I have been with Dish for about 13 years, well something like that, except for a month stint with cable. There DVR rocks, and don't forget, we had alot more HD for like a year than what the Direct folks had. For now, there is no reason to think they won't be around for a long while.

I enjoyed a bunch of HD for a year while the Direct fanbase was on hold, so far no show stoppers on HD, although I hope Dish picks up Speed in February when it really starts broadcasting in HD.

You should get an OTA antenna, I suggest a Zenith Silver Sensor, try to put it as high as possible, in attic if possible, then point towards towers. Then hook up the coax to your 722 Dish receiver and do a digital local channel scan and see what you can get. You may be in luck for all of them.

I have a 622 in the bedroom and it has never woke me up, but it is loud if you happen to be awake to go to the bathroom, just change the update time. I added speakers to mine so I can set it on music and turn the TV off.
