From what I've seen other than the HD or OTA tuner they are the same unit. I've find my pq so good on the 625 that till all channels go HD I'm have no reason to change.:) I also use OTA for my HD locals.

I paid $185. for a 622, because I was too cheap to lease or pay $400. for the 622. But I'm glad I did.

I couldn't live without my DVR 625, for the same reason jkohnman said. For me till everything is HD I'll live with my 625 and OTA for HD locals. I have a 37inch LCD TV and my pq looks great, so I'm verry happy. Good luck.

Which is good, from what I'm reading they have too many bugs that need to be worked out. With all the bugs it makes me happy to stick with Dish.
