I just did an install like you are describing, I used a combo of existing and new cable; however this will depend on how your home is wired to begin with and the type of cable used for your internet. Around here it is fiber to the home then cat5 from the cable box to each wired jack regardless...
I have a HR24 and H24 with swm. The HR24 is fine, but the H24 keeps doing a system check, about 6 times last night. The signals are mostly in the mid to high 90's with a couple in the high 80's here and there. Any ideas what might be going on?
Tasty, I would say thank you for helping out a newbie, my guess is he never received proper training and is already being overworked, you should not have had to do what you did.
I am a retailer and I would tell you I have cleaned up messes behind contractors and in-house techs as well as other retailers. I would say stick with the retailer, but I am a retailer so take it for what it is worth.
Does anyone have experience with DTN. I know that DTV has/had a partnership with DTN. If so I was hoping you could give me a few tips on how to install this system.
I am looking at DTV, but I can not see anywhere on thier brochure what level of programing I need to purchase to receive my regional sports. Is anyone familiar with this?
I used this meter for about the first year that I did professional instillation.

I have a dvr that keeps rebooting. The message says something like: do not turn off power system is doing a software update. It will reach 90% and sit there for about 5 minutes and then start all over again. Any ideas of what the problem my be?
I have just started installing D*. Today I tried an install and had the following.
101: 86-96
110: 85-92
119: 76-88
103(a): fail
What is on 103(a)? While doing some searching I see talk of 103(c)? Should I be getting this? The install was for a HD-DVR.
