Probably just like the power company people say they are leaving the address and then put services under a different family member and rinse and repeat history of bad payments. It’s sucks but I think that is the reason they do it.

I think I opted out of the sports stuff last year and my bill has been low. These days I rarely have enough time to keep up with stuff. But I do still get Sacramento kings games on the nbc channel so that’s cool :)

The Directv app at some point use to be fine, but that was years ago, the last few years it has been a nightmare. They truly need to adopt engineers/developers that built Netflix/Hulu/Disney plus apps but that would cost $$$$ and might not be worth it for them to do any major redesign to it...

Honestly I am not surprised. I work remotely and I mainly watch Netflix or Disney Plus or Hulu these days. Plus the Disney bundle comes with ESPN plus so I get to watch soccer games. I just don’t watch cable tv as much anymore. I might actually cancel direct tv soon. Just no point.

I have charter gig, it’s solid...but I’d like to also have upstream gig service, att in my area only offers 25mbps, which is a joke, I pay about $130 a month. With that said, charter has been solid in my area, so I don’t have many complaints, I do wish we had better competition to help drive...

I’m to the point I rarely watch Live tv. Hulu/Netflix/Disney Plus has everything I need these days, they release so much content I always find something to watch. Let’s not forget Amazon Prime streaming too.

I mostly watch Netflix/DisneyPlus and ESPN plus, streaming nowadays it’s the way to go, I rarely watch live tv other than my Pats on Sundays.

I’m dumping DTV soon, I rarely watch cable tv anymore. it will save me a pretty penny. Nowadays I stick to Netflix and Amazon Video, soon I will be adding Disney Plus which will include ESPN. So yeah, I think I’m good.

I had that issue few weeks back, all I had to do is restart the receiver, also double check your network connection.

I have Spectrum Gig in my area, had 300mbps for the longest, it’s been 3 years and ATT only offers up to 25mbps server where I live, screw their slow **** speeds. They keep sending me junk mail on a weekly basis offering me $$$ for a lower quality product, hell for the same price the standard...

By then 5G will be coast to coast and tv providers will be able to provide tv streaming services over the air wireless signals. When 5G becomes a thing we will see a lot more providers offering Streaming TV service. Let’s face it, that is the future along cloud dvr service. It’s too expensive...

Now it’s gonna be a pita to get directv to show up and check the wiring from the satellite. I’ll check the signals.

I’d understand if it was a wiring issue if it happened while watching tv, but this only happens when starting the receiver.

Spoke to DTV again this morning and they finally agreed to send me a replacement... They have to charge me $21 for shipping, they said it’s a leased receiver and they have to charge me for replacement unless I chose to pay $9 for their monthly protection plan.

Spent the last two days with DTV support, I’ve been getting connection lost to the server for two months on my c61k client, I have to reboot the stupid thing each time to get it to work again. We checking all the wiring, we factory reset the main receiver but the stupid thing still goes down...

The current genies are slow and the performance have been awful. It takes several seconds to start up the TV compared to the main unit which is pretty much instant. I do not know how DirecTV gets away with these cost cutting units.
