    Which Dish for HR24?

I use an SL3 while motorhoming with my HD receiver. With an HR24 dvr I would go with a SWM3.

    LNB Swap

Disconnect the power. If you accidentally short the center conductor to ground you could damage the dvr.

Finally gonna move to pole mount vs roof mount...

I give up. You people are determined to spend a lot of money. All I'm trying to do is save the OP a few bucks. A tech is not going to rip out my pole and redo it just to get more money out of me. Based on the installs that I have seen QC is not one of their concerns. Good luck on your quest...

Finally gonna move to pole mount vs roof mount...

Did you read my previous post (post #17)? I've been using a sleeved 1.5" rigid conduit post (1.5" ID, 1.9" OD) for 5 years now with an AT9 5 lnb with no problems and no rust.

Finally gonna move to pole mount vs roof mount...

If you can't find a fence post of the appropriate size then go to Lowes or Depot and buy a length of 1.5" rigid conduit. It is thick and heavy duty with an OD of 1.9". Add one layer of .035 flashing as a collar to the top of the post and the OD will be 1.97". About as close to 2" as you are...

    Directv Receiver and 1080p issues.

Correct. My 4 year old 42" Sharp Aquos will only accept 1080p/60.

    Anyone Else Seem to Notice

This problem is being discussed quite a bit on several threads on the 'other' satellite forum. Apparently it is a widespread problem with no actual fixes yet.

Source for 2 inch OD galvanized poles

Did basically the same. I used 1.5" rigid conduit (1.9" OD) with a wrap of .035" flashing.

    Pole mount OD size?

It will. I used 1.5" rigid electrical conduit bought at Lowes (cheap). The rigid conduit is very heavy duty and 1.9" OD. I wrapped the top with a collar using .035" aluminum flashing. It has been installed now for four years with no signs of wear and tear.

    HD in RV problems

Well if you have an H20-100 or an H20-600 then you need B-band converters. Do you have them or not? The exact model number should be on a sticker located behind the drop down door where the access card is.

    HD in RV problems

You didn't mention the exact model# of your receivers but chances are you need to use b-band converters on them in conjunction with a non-swm dish. Some of the newer receivers don't need them but most do.

Noob mounting slimline on a pole

Yes it is referred to as rigid conduit as opposed to EMT (electrical metallic tubing) or IMC (intermediate metallic conduit). It was a 10' length, threaded, but not capped. Just used a hacksaw to cut it off to 8'. 3' in the ground and 5' above ground.

Noob mounting slimline on a pole

The 1.5" rigid electrical conduit at Lowes is about 1.9" OD and is heavy duty. Wrap it with a sleeve of .035" flashing and it's almost a perfect 2". Set it in the ground with 2 or three bags of concrete and put a bolt thru the bottom of the pole to keep it from twisting. My old AT9 dish is...

I'm signed up on their website for their newsletter but I still don't receive any emails other than dvr scheduling confirmations and statement notifications. Go figure..

Best place to get a tube for mounting

WFM. I used 1.5" rigid electrical conduit from Lowes (1.9" OD) and some .035 flashing wrapped around it. No problems after three years.

Low Speed Data Port For RV

I have a RCA DRD480RE receiver available which does have a low speed data port and may work with your setup. If DirecTV will still activate it you would need to purchase a new access card. This cable may help with your connection problems. If interested PM me. Jim

    DTV in a Travel Trailer

Most splitters don't pass DC current so your sat receiver won't be able to power the lnb's on the dish. So you need to either eliminate the splitter or replace it with a splitter that has DC pass-thru. I believe that DC is only passed to one leg so you would only be able to power the dish from...

    Standard TV & HD receiver

AS HDinCincy said. Additionally make sure in the receiver setup that you tell it that you have a 4:3 tv. If you are using component or hdmi connection set the resolution to whatever your sd set can handle. If you are using composite or s-vid connections then it doesn't matter (always 480i).

    Slimline Pole install

I guess it's too late now but 1 1/2" RIGID electrical conduit has a 1.9" OD. A simple sleeve made from .035" flashing brings that out to almost a perfect 2". Works great.

    5 LNB Pole Mount

1.5 inch rigid electrical conduit works very well. It has very thick walls and is 1.9 inches OD. You can use a piece of .035 flashing to make a sleeve which brings the OD to almost a perfect 2 inches. All this is readily available and reasonably priced at Lowes or Depot. It has worked great for...
