I have PlayOn and it works great. Only thing I noticed is that is slows down the functionality of my HR23 considerably after I've been using it for a long period of time, usually resulting in having to reset the box. Haven't tried it since any of the updates though. Have been streaming it...
Must be certain teams. Been watching the Red Wings all season long on Fox Sports Detroit and the picture quality has been great. About 90% of the games have been in HD.
For those of us out of the regional area the sports pack and Center Ice are needed to do that. Can't just have the sports pack, the games will be blacked out. Gave me 'channel not purchased' or the message about the game being blacked out in my area until I got Center Ice.
When I started all this about a month after Versus was cut off I originally ordered just the sports pack under the impression that I could get all the RSN's and still be able to watch the Wings when they were on. When I asked the rep on the phone if that was true I was told it was so I left it...
Sounds like you may need the sports pack. That will give you all the RSN's that Directv has available, but on the downside it costs extra. I have CI and the sports pack so I can watch the Red Wings down here in KY and I get all the games on Fox Sports Detroit unless they're showing on NHL...
I have the sports pack as well as Center Ice and I get the majority of the games on the regional feed unless it's being broadact on NHL Network, NBC, or the idiots at Versus. I'm very happy with Directv for offering packages like this because I the only time I could catch a Wings game here in...
I'm wondering if it has anything to do with elevation. We live just outside the Ohio Valley and have to climb a huge hill to get to where we live. Most of the towers are at a lower elevation than we are. Just a guess.
I've been very happy using them in the past. Have bought all my HDMI cables plus a couple of digital coax sound cables and a usb cable for my printer through their website. Good quality merchandise with prices to match.
Yes, the subchannels. That's what I'm looking for. Didn't know exactly how to put it. I've been looking at indoor antenna's for a while now and was just curious on which one I might have the best success with. Thought the AM21 would be a good deal but I wasn't aware that I'd have to run another...
I get locals yes. My friend is picking up about 5 different PBS feeds and a couple different ones from the local NBC feed including their 24 hour weather feed. He changes to his tuner input on his tv from HDMI so I don't believe they're coming from Dish but I could be mistaken.
All I have are...
I'll double check with him to make sure I'm not mistaken, but I know that he doesn't have anything other than his slimline dish from Dish Network mounted on his roof. Have seen the OTA channels he can get and they all look amazingly clear to me.
I don't know if it's exactly considered an antenna. Probably the wrong choice of words. My friend has an OTA tuner built in to his older Samsung 56" DLP and can pick up local OTA stations without the use of an external antenna.
Sorry for any confusion.
OTA = Over The Air
It's the free signal put out by the networks such as NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX. Usually need some sort of antenna to pick them up unless your tv has one built in.
Are you able to get your locals with Directv?
Thanks for all the info. Looks like I won't be doing anything for a while due to lack of funds but at least I have some ideas now. So from what I can tell from what you're all saying is that I'll have to run another line to the AM21 and not be able to just hook it to my HR23 with the existing...
I'm trying to find out if getting an AM21 OTA Tuner is my best option for OTA HD channels.
I live in the bottom floor of a 2 story apartment building. I have about 9 stations that broadcast OTA in my area and they are all about 50 miles away from my location according to antennaweb.org. I'm a...
So this will work with the HR23 as well? I'm using the home plug adapters to get On Demand to my box. Would be nice to wire up my PS3 since I just got the Netflix streaming disc for it.
I have had that issue myself for a while now but it's usually only during the Wings games. Never notice a problem with any of the other shows they have.
