    Return Equipment Question

My two years was up and I canceled. They sent the box to return the receivers. I packed up the power cords, remotes, and the receivers. I noticed it said to also return all accessories. (like the B band adapters). I was given B band adapters when I first got installed but my dish got damaged in...

SWM myself or get D* to do it?

I'm debating my options. My 24 month commitment just ran out. I have been using my HR21's with only one input since my rooms have one coax. I don't have HD right now because a couple months after I got service we had a tornado and it took the dish so I hooked up an old 3 lnb dish and that's what...

    Tornado Damaged Dish

I have two options with D* they can add 5.99 for a year or 49.99 one time visit. hmmm might just buy a dish without the lnb's to see if it would work.

    Tornado Damaged Dish

thanks for the reply. I will check with them and see what they say. I do have a pile of dishes around so if worst comes to worst I can use 5 single dishes maybe. or least get one up for 101, 110.

    Tornado Damaged Dish

We had a tornado today. missed our house but we got some wind damage and one item that was lost was our directv dish. The dish is pretty twisted so it can't hold a signal. Will directv replace this for free or do I have to pay a large fee for them to come out? If that is the case I might just...

    Leaving DTV for dish

I just switched to Dish and must say all the HD rocks. I'm not a fanboy to one side of the other. They are both good services. One thing I have noticed, with my D* hd box I only got 6 digital OTAs. I always thought my antenna was just pointed in a particular spot but when I fired up the 622 it...

    72.5 Local Channels

check this post out: http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=40711&highlight=72.5 when I setup my 72.5 dish I connected it directly to the reciever first, used 101 or 110 (since there was no 72.5 meter, one the signal meters actually showed the signal I can't remember if it was 101 or...

    Well I just

Basically, however, if you want digital cable in every room than you got to fork out cash for each tv. In my area it's close to $9! So if you pay for hbo and have more than 1 tv, it's really not worth it to just have one box. I think this is really hidden by the cable companies. sure you can...

    Leaving DTV for dish

your right. ;) I hate to ditch D* after it's been such a solid service but I own everything so I can go back if I need too. I won't sign a dish contract.

    Leaving DTV for dish

Am I the only one that hates tivo? I hate my D* tivo with a passion. the features are great\good software but the guide and remote are soooo slow that it makes it not even worth it. It's so hard to see on a 20" lcd in my bedroom because the white text on blue blend together. I'm in the switch...

    Channel 1000?

I was flipping through on my SD box and I saw channel 1000. It said something about welcome to directv plus or something like that. It looks like it shows the same content over and over in a 15 min window. It said I didn't subscribe so I couldn't view the content. Any one know what this is? It...

    Current Receiver Question (New Customer/Install)

Directv's website has all the manual links that you will need. They only install directv hardware now. Most likely you will get an H10 or H20 for the hdtv box and a R15 for the dvr

Will Voom ever be carried on DirecTV ?

Will voom ever come to directv? If you go to voom.com there is a place to contact if you would like to carry the voom channels. this got me thinking. is it just capacity problems? or is directv scared of hd? ;)

    Slingbox

I use a sling with D* and it works well. The IR connection to the sling changes the channels great. It really depends on your internet connection for external viewing. You need a lot of upload 512K or higher works good. For local viewing on your network it works really well. I have an office and...

    Direct Tv v:s Dish Network?

I have had both and currently have Driectv. I had dish in 1996 when it first came out and got directv in 2002. I had no problems with dish during that time. Than I switched to Dish again in 2004 and it was a mistake. The boxes were buggy and the satellite would loose signal every now and than...
