Thanks jimbo; I just started the reset and will post the results when completed

I had to reset my HR-24 because of a lost satellitesignal message. Now my guide lists "REGULAR SCHEDULE" for all my channels and my 'TO DO" list shows 0 when I should have about 45 programs scheduled to be recorded. I have never had this problem after a reset. What can I do to get things working...

Is there an aiming tone on the HR-24 and how do you access it??

I read in earlier posts that holding down the left side of the light circle and clicking the right side will dim lighting on the front panel. how do I increase brightness of the front panel display??

chip; I agree and that`s the last time I`ll order from solid signal even though they are a sponsor of this site.

the other lights on the front panel are working and of normal intensity. I`d rather not return the unit as it`s too much of a hassle to activate and set up a new unit. when I received the unit from solid signal the seal on the recorder box was cut and there was no manual inside. everything else...

I installed a new hr-24 from solid signal and the orange recording light does not illuminate during a recording cycle. the unit records properly. id there a command or other way to turn this function on?? since the unit is new it seems unlikely the bulb is burned out.

bob; I had a stroke recently and I guess my cognitive skills still need some more work in rehab. I`m working on full recovery.

DUHHH, it`s clearly marked FORMAT. i`ve had directv for over 10 years and I guess I never figured out how to fully use the remote. thanks bob!!!

I have a new hr-24 and am getting white frames on both sides of the picture only in sd . I`ve changed the resolution to 1080i and am getting a 1080i plus pillar box format which I believe explains the white frames along both sides of the picture. how do I get rid of the pillar box and get a full...

chip; thanks for your suggestion, it`s probably the bulb unless there`s a command to activate it. the unit is new. I like your avatar. mine is my 1857 California license plate framed by the original selling dealer frame on the back of my 1957 Chevrolet nomad.
