This is how it works; I checked it out today on a couple programs. Except for once you hit the select button on delete, it deletes the recorded program you just watched and then goes back to your recorded programs list.

I called Directv to find out how to delete my everyday manual timer. Had to go to Menu-Manage Recordings-Prioritizer and find the program, then hit the red button on the remote to delete the timer.

I am fairly new to Directv and do not know the answer to your question as I've never ordered a Directv PPV. You could try calling Directv at 1-800-DIRECTV and ask. They might be able to tell you if no one replies with the answer here.
