Comcast Philadelphia and Channel 4 San Diego

Here's an article on the situation from a San Diego paper: Padres staying put on cable TV - SignOnSanDiego.com Interesting part of the article: So in other words, not any time soon

Still miss it being called the F U Center (First Union, for all those who forgot)

FCC seeking to close programming access loophole

Just more double talk by Comcast, in the article Roberts says he "reserved the right to defend ourselves if any complaints should be filed." So in other words, they won't "challenge" the FCC ruling, but if anyone tries to use the ruling to gain access they will still fight it.

So sick of these illogical (and seemingly arbitrary) hockey blackouts...

Not sure how it was over in Hanover, but here the Flyers were blacked out even before they added CSN Philly on cable, which meant the only way you could watch the games was to get satellite and "have" a zip code outside the black out area. Even now it's still screwed up, on cable we get CSN...

So sick of these illogical (and seemingly arbitrary) hockey blackouts...

It's kind of a glass half empty/full thing here in York, they added CSN Philly, like you said, but not in high def.

FCC seeking to close programming access loophole

Last I heard it was scheduled for January 29th FCC Schedules Vote On Terrestrial Exemption Order - 2009-12-30 18:28:59 | Multichannel News I'm trying not to get my hopes too high on this, Comcast always seems to find a way to keep CSN Philly off satellite.

So sick of these illogical (and seemingly arbitrary) hockey blackouts...

Shinner, I can understand your frustration. When I first moved to York they had Suscom cable, they offered CSN Mid-Atlantic (because the Orioles were on then) & FSN Pitt. So I figured I'd get center ice through them to watch the Flyers, well turns out they were blacked out on center ice on...

    NHL Center ICE - HD

Amen to that. I didn't have the EI package, I'm wondering if the CSN Philly broadcasts of the Phillies were available in HD or SD only? Couldn't find anything definite out there. My local Comcast system only provides CSN Philly in SD (CSN DC in HD), so I have to decide whether it's better to...

    CSN Philadelphia in September?

My advice, don't hold your breath. I could be wrong, but I believe the whole September 2008 date started getting mentioned due to the original deal when Sportsnet took over for Prism and the length of the contract. However I don't think it will impact anything as long as they continue to be...

    Comcast Sportsnet Philly

I always thought the same thing about how they are losing out on income from not selling the channel to satellite. They must have determined that their subscriber loss in the Philly area would outweigh the additional income from selling the channel (they’re basically admitting that people would...

Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia and Sports Programming

You got that right. I still can't believe the FCC actually granted CSN Philly an EXCEPTION when they approved the Adelphia merger last year FCC Approves Adelphia Breakup - 7/17/2006 - Multichannel News "Comcast and Time Warner are barred from using terrestrial delivery of a regional sports...
