    Directv Satellite Service Call

Well, if you don't ask the answer is always no.

    Directv Satellite Service Call

I'm glad you're happy but they should have just shipped you a new one and if you have an HS17, it's built in.

    4K channels on Roku missing

Are you on Directv internet or Directv satellite? I use the app on most of my TVs and the 4K channels from 104-106 are always there. BTW, I find the PQ better than the satellite feed.

    Equipment no longer supported letter

The Directv app for Roku is excellent. So good in fact that I use it for most of my viewing as long as I'm just watching a single show/event. It's not great for channel surfing, though. I'm about to send back another Geni client.

    Discounts/Equipment?

Directv, IME, has the best PQ of any linear TV provider not using streaming so let me get that out of the way. But, I don't know what you're looking at on what kind of equipment you have but the top streamers have PQ that far surpasses anything that Directv satellite is doing ...and that...

Back from streaming (YTTV) to DirecTV? Has anyone done this?

There were issues with the Directv Roku app but those seem to be fixed. The PQ is fine. I'm using it on a couple of Roku TVs where I don't need boxes (or the $7/month charge for them).

Back from streaming (YTTV) to DirecTV? Has anyone done this?

Beyond lousy internet service, I can't imagine why anyone would watch anything on the HBO linear channels. They've done a stellar job adding 4K/HDR content along with Dolby Atmos sound on the app.

    DIRECTV Raises TV Prices

I've nothing about them that would make it worthwhile especially with a forced contract extension. I have Rokus for streaming.

    DIRECTV Raises TV Prices

There are oddball cases for everything and I get why some folks want to hold onto old equipment. But, while I have no access to the numbers, I doubt very much it's even a blip on the radar at this point. To be clear, my statement about HS17 and minis was simply to point out that it works as...

    DIRECTV Raises TV Prices

Frankly, I don't care. I was pointing out the way most people use the service. That's it.

    DIRECTV Raises TV Prices

I've had an HS17 and wired/wireless clients for about 6 years. Everything just works.

    DIRECTV Raises TV Prices

I would not think that at all. In fact, I'd be absolutely stunned. There is quite literally zero reason for Directv to add it.

    DIRECTV Raises TV Prices

Incorrect. South Jersey gets MSG and MSGSN so we also get the RSN fee.

Can't reach Directv by phone today

Same thing happened to me. I canceled it last year since I have ESPN+ and there's very little CI provides that ESPN+ doesn't. I did get through to a CSR that removed it.

    Hr22 slow

There is absolutely nothing hideous about the UI and it's hardly buggy. I've been using an HS17 with clients for four or five years now with no issues of note. It's as snappy as I need it to be. Not sure what kind of advice you think you're going to get in trying to get ancient hardware to work...

    Signed up for Directv again

I'm glad you're happy, but there is not one provider out there, including Directv that provides a picture better than then most streamers.

    Fox 4K quality 105

I've seen that quite a bit on the 4K channels. For Fox content, I generally just use the Fox Sports app on my Roku.

Add a splitter and run the coax to another room or does your house only have one room?
  20. R

    DTV gemini

It's a server. It can quite literally be put anywhere you can run the coax to. It does not need to be anywhere near the TV.
  21. R

    DTV gemini

The Gemini box is a replacement for the mini and works the same way with the satellite signal. The streaming is from the apps. There is absolutely no benefit to having that box without the internet. A mini can do the same thing.

    DTV gemini

That is easily solvable with an HS17 and C61K.
  23. R

    DTV gemini

The chances of seeing anything with a tuner in it are close to zero. The HS17 with minis is a very, very good system. I have no issues with it and it seems the only folks unhappy with the whole thing want to move receivers to other locations. Worthwhile is in the eye of the beholder and while...

    DTV gemini

It's effectively a replacement for a mini with a streaming device built in. It is not a receiver and from what I can find out, it is most certainly not old stock.
  25. R

    DTV gemini

It allows streaming IN ADDITION to satellite. That said, I called and for some reason I was not eligible. Not that important to me.
