Great buy at Best Buy on new BD's

I have been waiting for Braveheart to come out on BD for awhile and now it is out. So I go into Best Buy to check prices and see that they have it for $22.99! Same price as Amazon.com! Not done, if you buy both Braveheart and Gladiator at the same time you get another $10 off at the...

new Costco $50 coupon for Panasonic player

Man, I am still in the window for the BD30 I purchased from Costco in February. Should I return and upgrade to the BD60? Is it any faster loading then the BD30? Besides Viera is there really any differance between the two? Anybody know?

    My View

Wife and I just watched 'Doubt'. A very interesting movie that brings up considerably more questions then it answers about a Catholic school in the 60's. Video was excellant and while this movie is primarily driven by the spoken word, there was one sequence where there was thunder and I told...

Keep the BD35 or exchange for the BD 60?

Well I just saw that Costco has the Panasonic BD-60 in store for $279. I have only had the BD-35 for 6 weeks and I can take it back and exchange for the BD-60. I have not been able to find a review on the BD-60 so I am not sure if I want to do that -- anybody have any thoughts?

Anyone have a Pioneer BD player? or Samsung 2500?

Can anyone explain to me how Samsung can make the best HD LCD's around and can not build a decent Blu Ray player? It is just sad!

    Whats up with Panasonic

I was just in Atlanta and the Frye's there had the 55 in stock. When I asked about the new Panneys the salesman told me that they did not expect any for about 2 months! Guess you will have to look at the Sony -- there are still some of those around.

    Blu-ray Players to Hit $150 In 2009

DVD's back in the late 90's were in the $30 range and people did not start buying up that media until it dipped in the under $20 dollar range. Where DVD's really got the booster going was when Walmart stated selling them for $9.99-$15.99. This changed the whole dynamic and sales took off...

    Blu-ray Players to Hit $150 In 2009

It will only be a blu bonanza if the movie companies drop the price on BD movies. They are still way too high. New releases need to be closer to $20 then $30.

    Getting Panasonic BD-35 to work?

The Onkyo does do pass thru, but on the 805 I do not believe that there is any setting. What I think happens is the Onkyo is looking at the input for output, The Panney BD-35 was looking for feedback and defaults to 1080p output when it does not receive that feedback, then the Onkyo passes the...

    Getting Panasonic BD-35 to work?

I had a little problem getting the Panasonic Bd-35 to work with my Onkyo 805. Seems the Panasonic reverts to automatic over the HDMI and the Onkyo checks over HDMI for 1080p first. Since my Pioneer 630HD DVI is 1080i I would get great sound but no video. To solve that I had to hook up the...

    Blu-ray sales soar

While my wife and I were at Costco's getting our eyes check we counted 7 HDTV's that went out the door in 1 1/2 hours. Three of them were accompanied by a BD player as best I could tell. I think that BD is doing quite well and 2009 will be a very good year for BD. Especially with player...

    Worst Product of the year?

I'm just saying -- DVD sales totals are on the way down and BD sales are on the way up. Last time I checked -- when your sales numbers are going up you are doing well and when your numbers are going down you are not doing well. It will be another two years before we will know if BD really...

Stand alone Blu-ray DVD player or PS3

Primary differance between the PS3 and everyone else -- The Hard Drive! The PS3's hard drive enables the PS3 to run faster on just about everything when it comes to Blu Ray. The latest Panasonic models come close on load times, menu access and restart times but the PS3 is still top dog on...

    Panasonic DMP - BD 35 $199.99 at Costco's!

The sale is on till December 14. Their regular price is $279.99 but you can get $80.00 off so the price is $199.99. You have to pay tax on their regular price but that is still a great deal on a great BD player!:) ps -- they are including a HDMI cable.

Just watched Wall-E and Iron Man with my wife. We enjoyed both and I was very impressed with both the sound and picture of both from my PS3. My wife meantioned that she prefered Iron Man to the newest James Bond flick. Her likes were, story, characters and a pretty up-to-date theme as...

This Project Is Getting Bigger and Bigger...

You should of purchased your Dad a Onkyo 606 and the BD35. Then you would of only needed to run 2 HDMI into your receiver and one out to your projector and let the receiver do all the switching. This way you handle both your video and audio needs and probably saved you money and install...

    Revised Blu-Ray forecasts for 2008

Blu-Ray in its life cycle is still ahead of DVD. And nobody here is talking about how DVD sales are sliding. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/21/business/21dvd.html?_r=1&ref=technology Blu-Ray is doing just fine. It is really DVD that is really hurting. The fact that BD sales are missing...

    Blu-ray ?

It is not a cheaper solution -- it is a joke. You can not upconvert a 480 picture and get more resolution out of it. You just exacerbate the problems inherent in a 480 picture. If you have a HDTV, then you are only fooling yourself in beliving that an upconverting DVD player is anywhere...

Will Sony's PlayStation 4 have Blu-ray? Someone thinks not.

Sony did meantion months ago that it was forseeable that the PS4 would not have an optical drive but they did not say it was a forgone conclusion. They tied it into download improvement in the internet. In addtion, It will be 2012 or latter before we see a PS4. The PS2 is still making Sony a...

PS3 vs recent state of the art set top players

There is no way from the PS3 but you can do what I did. I purchased for $19.99 a charger for the PS3 controllers that just plugs into an outlet. It works very well and cuts itself off when the controllers are charged up. When I get home I will post the brand name here.

Thanks Don, I never considered that my subwoofer might overstep the limit of the switched power of my Amp. I guess I need to go ahead and purchase a new power cleaner for my setup. Thanks for the heads up on gray's products teachsac.
