    HD Locals on Voom!?

    HD locals on Voom would be good for me because the Stealth or Winegard that they just installed for me works pretty good but I still get some breakup on certain channels. Overall though it is a lot better since the OTA antenna that is on the roof of my apt bldg just does not work very well.

    I can't try this fix you are talking about I can't even get any OTA channels at all. It has been like this for a month now and the earliest Voom can get a tech out on a Saturday is August 14th.

    Contacting VOOM

    I have been trying to get through to Voom and I have had no success in the past two days. It does not make any difference if I choose option 1 or 2 on the phone. I still get put on hold indefinitely and I just give up after a half hour or even an hour. I am really tired of this. It is unacceptable.

    I believe the 720p signal gets upconverted(is that the right term?) to 1080i if your tv does not do 720p. The picture should still look very good though. I've heard that ABC broadcast in 720p.

    Does Voom include a DVI cable with install?

    A DVI cable or component cable is supposed to come with your Voom installation. My installer had an extra DVI cable because my equipment had not actually come in for my original installation date.

    DVI Dual Link Cable

    The information posted by Mr. Biggles is really useful and contains good info on the subject. I read this same info at Ram Electronic's website which contains some other good info on related topics. I believe the DVI cable that came with my Voom setup is single link. It seems to work fine for me.
