No picture on Voom, please help

You can reboot and unplug cables all you want, the message is not going to change. www.voom.com Actually, judging from your posts over the last week, you've talked a lot about Voom on Dish (no WorldSport), Dish HD receivers, Dish HD pricing and whether or not the Voom dish can be used...

    WHEN will Voom shut down?

Sorry if I missed this information in another thread... Do we know yet just when service will be shut off? In saying "on April 30" does that mean at 12:01 am on Saturday, service will be shut off? Or will we have service all day Saturday, and it will be shut off Saturday night? I am...

DirecTV Offers Rebate to Voom Customers

I'm sure they're more than happy to turn you over to collections for services rendered... No one is happy they're shutting down, but any of us that didn't cancel service early owe right up to the April 30 shutdown.

DirecTV Offers Rebate to Voom Customers

Robert, Just to clarify for anyone considering this out there, the Tivo $50 rebate only applies to the first box, and each additional is full price - correct? Thanks for all the help by the way - I'm obviously disapointed to see Voom go away, but looking forward to getting D* installed!

Direct TV Salesman at Best Buy Laments VOOM leaving

You're comparing Voom to Bose??? :shocked That's not the way to get any sympathy... ;)

DirecTV Offers Rebate to Voom Customers

Point taken... :neener Regardless, the consequence of making the wrong decision is much more tolerable (especially financially!) with a television provider... :yes

DirecTV Offers Rebate to Voom Customers

We had Comcast HD from the time it was released in MPLS until we moved last summer. We are now a little outside of the metro area, and HD cable is not available. If Comcast or TWC (both providers for different areas of the Twin Cities at the moment) were options, I would probably go that route...

DirecTV Offers Rebate to Voom Customers

I'll say the same thing now that I said to people that ripped Voom all along. I am going to pick the provider that best fits MY SITUATION. Anyone that is going to pay the above prices needs to shop around. The deal I am planning on taking with D* is 4 rooms - 1 HD receiver, 1 Tivo and two...

POLL: After VOOM, who will be your provider?

That was definitely the way I was leaning until D* announced the $200 rebate. A few things have swayed me back towards D*, although the E* HD-DVR is still VERY tempting... 1. All the talk of buggy E* software. I work in technical support, so I could probably live with the frustration from...

    Ha voom already stopped?

Working fine for me. I'd think you better call them now, because if you tell them after April 30 that you lost service on April 8, they aren't going to believe you.

    Cablevision agrees to end Voom

Exactly - both "official" news releases and their own website have proven wrong in the past. And this story is per a "source". I think my optimism finally turned to pesimism tonight, but after all that has gone on the last 3 months, no one outside of that board room can know anything for sure at...

    Cablevision agrees to end Voom

A lot of people said the same thing when we were speculating whether we'd even be able to see the Super Bowl. Then when the webpage 'shut down'. Then when the March 31 date was announced. Then... Now, more than ever, I believe this is the end of Voom. I truly do. But things have looked pretty...

You won't have to VaVa tonight for your kids to go GaGa tomorrow...

I say they use that salary money to get the RSN's on Voom so I can watch the Twins and Wolves, and cancel my basic cable. I suppose they might as well throw a bunch of that money to the DVR too! :yes

Flash!!!! There will be no official statement on Monday

    voom.com...Alive!!

Something I had been thinking but hadn't read anyone else mention was that it had to be one of the most un-professional web messages I could immagine. No 'we regret to inform you', no 'unfortunately', no 'we thank our dedicated customers'.... Just 'no new customers, and we're shutting down by...
