Looks like the NBA and NHL packs went into free preview, and AMC is being tested for HI and AK (which I think was already reported). Seeing their report makes me miss this one. Do I really care that an "x8c descriptor" was added?

Considering it is uplink Wednesday, how is the progress on the debug? Thanks for your hard work.

Their version I believe is still a much more manual process. They hardly have the same code.

Betting these are all the ones Dish got a deal with to avoid the carriage mandate for the end of the year. Still, I'm glad to see WVIZ.

Wahoo!!! WVIZ Cleveland PBS. Hopefully it is turned on in a week or 2. I've always had spotty OTA reception. Odd, though, it is only on 61.5, when Cleveland HD locals are on 129 also. Glad I got my installers to leave the 61.5 wing dish when my 1000.2 was put in.

Methinks we need an update, as I imagine these all went to E15, not E3, E6 or E12. I do find it disappointing that some stuff went on TP17, as I think the hope was this would go to spotbeam from E12.

Maybe we should add these advertising moves to the filter as well?

Odd HBO west is what gets turned on. Still, I just set my DVR for a few movies.

Hmm, that's a great theory which seems to be the case for one of them. Maybe, now that Platinum costs extra again, they are planing on a free preview. And they want to make sure SD boxes get it, too.

I don't watch M rated crap and hate vulgar language as well. But that does not mean I subsist on child/tween programming like Hannah Montana and Zach and Cody. Pleanty of older shows out there, not to mention newer programing on Discovery Networks/History/HGTV/Food/Travel etc. to keep an adult...

Man, such whining. Yes, it sucks to lose HD. But would it not suck more to have bills go up $5 in Feb insted of $2? You act like this is to save Charlie money. It isn't. He passes any and all costs down to us. He is doing this to save us money, as he accurately belives his incredible prices...

What I mean to say is oviously someone had to authorize the recievers Dish uses to get those channels before sending them to us. It seems odd to say so much later that Dish simply is not authorized to distribute these channels.

Can someone help me understand this suit? It sounds to me like Disney is saying Dish never had a right to carry them in HD. But (correct me if I'm wrong) those channels are not distributed on C-band FTA. Obviously at some point they gave Dish access to them, and if there was no agreement, how...

They are promoting the heck out of the $39 package (AT120). Dish America isn't being promoted, but it is still available.

Bingo, that is why Dish is, for a lot of us, cheaper. I get a great deal, with no promotional pricing. DirecTV has rolled over to so many programmer demands that they be in the basic pack that their basic pack is bloated.

Scripps and Viacom were ages ago. Rainbow went beyond dispute with Voom. And it seems Dish has not had too much trouble with NBC-Universal, Discovery Networks, or even Comcast Networks. And I pay $36 for a package with 30 some HD channels. Before that, I payed $56 for AT120, HD and Plantum...

Huh? It's been a while since Dish dropped something big for a long time. Remember, it was DirecTV that dropped Versus recently. And last I checking, I have a lot of other channels. This is certainly not going back the the 70s.

Dish twitter feed seems to confirm that it was Disney that pulled the channels, not Dish. They are giving the following canned response to anyone that asks:

The HD feeds are covered by a second contract, and those contracts exparations don't coincide? That strikes me as odd.

    6/22/2010 9:45am - Uplink Activity Report - 33 changes

Oh, and while it might be our initial presumption, we cannot het say for certain it was Dish that wanted the channels down. For all we know, it was Disney that exercised some provision to have them removed.

    6/22/2010 9:45am - Uplink Activity Report - 33 changes

I presume this is related to the ESPNU lawsuit? For those unaware, there is currently a lawsuit between Dish and Disney, reguarding the fee paid for ESPNU. Essentially, Dish argues that it has a contract provision specifing "best nation pricing" (i.e. if DirecTV or Comcast or someone else...
