Your cable must give it more bw than voom because voom looks much better on scifi than dish and directv even with the new encoders.

I had a similar problem (but not as extreme as yours) i solved it by putting the box into 720p mode.

i honesly could care less about the SD movie channels so those dont matter to me... I had HBO when i had dish and will have it again for the 3 months band of brothers 2 airs but I hate HBO... I want movies on my movie channel and not stupid repeats of shows (not a big fan of any of HBO's shows...

no ppv right now (i would venture a guess atleast some ppv will be added in march when the new SD capacity goes online) I would keep dish until early march when the dvr pricing has been announced and what new channels will be added... unless you want to switch now and get in on that great...

I would also assume they added a few ppv and networking features to get ready for the dvr.

The only problem with that statement is every body but the cable co's charges an insane amount to buy. They really need to get a 10/month lease option before they can actually market it to the masses.

Yes I meant analog.... I was more thinking about simplifying the theater and one device for using all TV would be nice :) If anything I will get a TV card and put it in my HTPC with sage TV or something but one PVR would be better than trying to use 2 and setting my harmony for multiple tv...
