    Dead pixels

My initial reaction was much the same. Although, it was d*mn, this is a brand new TV and it was so heavy and such a pain to get in the house that I don't want to do it all over again!

    Dead pixels

Yes, I was told by others here that it's a known problem. If you press the Voom button, and then the Watch button this will take care of the problem. (Rebooting the stb takes care of it, but that's a pain.)

    Spots and lines in picture

I haven't seen any lines, but I have had the occassional stray pixel that doesn't want to go away. A white "dot" on the screen that stays in the same place even when you change channels. If this is the same problem, it's been around a while. Hitting the Voom button followed by the Watch...

    Broken Remote or NOT?????

Did you try putting in new batteries. If the backlight was left on for a long period of time or something was set on top of the remote keeping a button depressed for a long time the batteries may already be almost dead. ... or this could be too simple!

    I want VOOM but I can't?

That would have backfired before I moved. I had 3 phone lines (home, work, fax) in the house and depending on where the receiver was located, it would have been connected to a different line since the *&%@! builders didn't run the whole multiline phone cable through the entire house. After I...

    I want VOOM but I can't?

My receivers have never been hooked up to a phone. There is no outlet anywhere near my receivers. If Voom starts enforcing this requirement, then I hope they will just let me hook up the receivers for a few minutes once a week or something. The only way for me to do it would be to run a...

    Should I have Channels 340 and 342?

Those are regional channels. You get them based on where you are located. One of the things many people here are hoping for is a full line-up of regional sports networks (RSN) to be added over the coming months.

New Software Version 7.33 downloading now...

My software updated today. If anything the program guide update is worse than ever. Prior to the update it would load in less than 30 minutes any time of day. Now it's been 2.5 hours and still nothing even after rebooting. Also, has anyone else had problems with no signal on some of the...

    Help: Voom Box stopped working!!!

I noticed on my box the light stays red if I don't have a signal lock because of storms/high winds or whatever. (Then I can go into the Options and Settings, then System Settings, Installer Menu, then Tune Satellite Signal to check my signal strength.) But if it's been out for this long...

    VOOM STB Version 7.26 (2.30): Features/Bugs/Requests

Okay, thanks. Sounds better than having to power off.

    VOOM STB Version 7.26 (2.30): Features/Bugs/Requests

Anybody have problems with stray pixels suddenly showing up, and remaining on-screen no matter which channel/menu they were on? (The pixels formed a short white line on the screen.) Made me think my TV had a problem, but when I switched to my DVD it was fine. I had to power off my receiver to...

    Too Tall ??

I have a Toshiba as well. The remote should have a "pic size" button on it. Try the different settings. "Full Screen" is the correct setting on mine for a true 16x9 picture. However, for an HD signal my Toshiba automatically goes into 720 or 1080i mode and can't be adjusted. My other HD...
