Same.... D* and E* both have big problems with their DVR's (not to mention the price). Voom is still the best out there (with the exception of certain cable cities)

it will be both i think.... theres a USB 2.0 port on the back they are planning on using with some kind of adapter.

It supports name based recording (not sure about part of a title) But the voom rep said there will be an option to record only "new" eps (I specifically asked about that one)

The guy who said 21 will be exclusives doesnt even have voOm yet.... This hasnt been confirmed by anybody and I would be very suprised if they added more exclusives when the new capacity goes online.... they have a good amount now and no need to add more to that, just fill the content you...

it would have to be because only the newest wireless 802.11g (which means you would need a fairly new hub/router, and many people dont have one) could support HD streams... there might be some sort of wireless adapter but it wont be on launch.

they said that would be a future development if enough people asked for it but said adding a second dvr would be easier.

I was told that if you dont need any new boxes and such they would ship you the box and not go through installs inc.... I specifically asked if they were going to have a program w/o installs inc and he said yes. Granted things could change.

Hows that video coming? Id love to see what you got from them vs what I got. Got a few friends I'm trying to convert to voOm too ;) And the old video is pretty outdated now.

i know about the whole polarity issue.... but on the back of the box there was only one input (like the current box has the little gray box on the back..dunno technical name for it) that combines the antenna and sat connections (so the voom box only needs one cable) The DVR has a similar box...

Vooms PVR will be able to record 4 streams at once.... that trumps any cable dvr out so far... my local cable co (cox) has just released their dvr and its a damn nice solution (one of the new motorola boxes) and its a dual tuner but no whole house features (this alone will make the voom dvr...

If you have a stand alone tivo it will work now with voom..... but im guessing you have a DirecTivo. I presonally have a replaytv which allows me to archive shows until voom gets me their pvr.

I expect to see in at CES (complete solution), if they plan on making it out in early 2005 they will have a complete system at CES. Were going to know alot from their booth this year.
