getting xfinity and worried installers might trash my rig.

great tips! Thanks! Will let them know I need the existing rig not to be modified and that I want to keep that how it is. Good call with the filling the holes. I did notice when I was feeling around as I was tracing the cable for my FTA project that there was some silicone rotted stuff outside...

scored a free DISH TurboHd satellite dish! Any FTAers using one of these for anything?

mine still has a plastic fitting at the end of the arm. It has a slightly wider mouth than the metal arm its attached to. Do you know if this should suffice?

scored a free DISH TurboHd satellite dish! Any FTAers using one of these for anything?

if it turns out to be too small for 97w, should it be fine for orby if and when I get that? I imagine yes, as there dish they offer is only a 25"er or so from what I read. I expect this one will be even nicer to point for that as it gives you a really nice setup for the elevation and what not.

scored a free DISH TurboHd satellite dish! Any FTAers using one of these for anything?

It is missing the lnb which probably doesn't matter much, I imagine the stock one was circular anyway. It turned out to come with a bunch of other cool freebies as well in material! pole attached, another J-pole attached, and I think there is a ground wire attached idk it is in the bacement now...

    need help identifying pre-slimline dishes

what were the most common directv dishes seen in the wild before the slimline? I remember having a huge one when we had directv put in back in 06. It was round and huge like 33" I recall. Think we subbed to the total choice or something like that, which had the Spanish speaking channels and...

getting dish happy and need to find a way to hide all my dishes

My mom is ok with my 18" front lawn signal blaster and one dish on the back deck. She says any more and it will start to look like house of marcians. I had the idea of building a structure of some kind in the back yard like a platform to put my dish cluster and she is ok with that but it will be...

    cozitv on 33" dish possible?

Cozitv on a 33" offset has anyone gotten this sat with success using a similar setup? I figured I'd try asking here first before wasting my time if my dish turns out to be undersized for the job. I know a directv is undersized but I would like to know if using a proper KUBand one won't make much...
