Ice myself being a ham operator, there is similar rule for ham antennas and towers called PRB 1 it mainly covers antenna/tower issues within a town but I believe there maybe provisions regards HOA's.

Thats too bad I was hoping to use the receiver for more than just FTA maybe a subscription to some english programming or the occasional PPV would have been nice to get Wrestlemania or TNA PPV from other providers than just Dish Network. I seem to remember on Cband there was TVN for PPV movies...

Just wondering with all the FTA receivers out there is there any programmers that will sell you a smartcard/subscription to their programming in this country? I was thinking i may subscribe to a few channels if available and they support my DSR200c receiver as well as my FTA channels. Thanks Bob

Yes there are a few on the lyngsat site that show there is a few encrypted channels from Globecast.

I was curious, if one wanted to subscribe to Globecast programming on 97W that is encrypted? Instead on buying their receiver would they just provide a smartcard to put in the Geosat DSR200c? I have no plans of subscribing but I was curious if they would support that receiver? Bob

Yes I noticed that last night when doing a blind scan so I cancelled it and went back to 4 mhz spacing. Heres another question for the group, Can I use the loop out to add my Dish 222 back in to the system or will the separator that the 222 requires screw things up? I suppose I could just try it...

Here's a question regarding blindscan setting what is the best setting for the freq spacing of the scan? I use the default 4 mhz setting would 2 be a better choice? Also I noticed on one of the birds during the blindscan (can't remember which one at the moment) would only scan the Horiz polarity...

Thanks I figured it out about 2am or this morning. All went well and saw programmed all 3 echo birds. The other question is does the dishpro support diseqc 1.1? I saw that as one of the settings but left it at DiseqC and it seemed t be fine. It was fun to try it out the receiver.

I have another question. For some reason on Echo 61.5 I lost all the transponder freq in the menu except for 1 which was 12355 I believe. I tried resetting the receiver to factory default and still have the same problem do I have to manually enter them back into the tp freq list for 61.5...

Thanks Ice, I have it hooked up to my DISH 500 and Dish 300 right now most all is scrambled of course but I just wanted to make sure it worked. I'm happy now I'm starting to get the FTA bug. :D

Yes I figured I disconnect the coax from the separator from the back of my vip222 and connect it to the Geosat.

Thanks everyone for the info. I have one more question. So I can disconnect for example my vip222 dish receiver and hook up my geosat but how does the geosat know which lnb to get it's signal from. is it done in the menu and I just specify 61.5 and I believe someone said set the diseqc to #3...

I have another question because I don't want to damage my Geosatpro or my DishProplus lnbs does the Geosatpro have the ability to switch between the lnbs on my Dish 500 and 300. Has anyone ever tried this? I just do not want to blow up anything. Thanks Bob
