    I ordered one of these...

Scott: I could possibly be persuaded to take a peek at your dish. I live in Killingly nowadays so its not that far to head your way, and I regularly have to move and adjust 4.5m dishes, yours should be a piece of cake.

What kind of dish is this?

The big one (that Greg mentioned) is a simulsat. Used to pick up the entire clarke belt, viewable in the US. The smaller ones, are for credit card data, as mentioned previously. I believe they all use horizontal polarity, so they use the big wide dishes to increase the gain for that polarity...

Is there Japaness Program in US on FTA channel?

TV Japan is kind like an old Omnibus channel, they air a bit of Wowow, NHK, and another network (which name escapes me at the moment) and some english language Japanese news.

Tilted Pole ( newbie question alert ;)

I used a tow chain to get a pole out of the ground when I retrieved my 10' mesh.. there was no way I was going to lift that thing into the truck, so I left it for the guy, but hey, at least I got it out of the ground! I wouldnt really recommend the method to straighten a pole however...

    Satellite Vendor Recommendations

I would recommend Sadoun myself.. I have delt with them a few times and have been nothing but happy. Also, I have heard enough good things about SGAFTA from my fellow forum dwellers to be able to recommend them as well.

    DiSEqC... Does it EVER work???

I never liked my DiSEqC switch.. I found that sometimes it would take literally seconds to switch correctly, or it would fail back to port 1. I ended up just sticking with one dish in the end. Whenever I get my BUD setup, I will just stick with that and use a 4x4 multiswitch for my C/Ku...

    KDEV on mid-Missouri cable TV

Yes, there are many more channels picked up on headend dishes then are used. The company I work for has a dish pointed at G4R/Ku only for one stream, out of the 120 or so channels on that bird. Sometimes providers will change transponders, and if the change isnt made in the headend at the...

Tilted Pole ( newbie question alert ;)

for a motorized setup, you really must have a plumb pole. if it was a fixed dish, you can get away with it by adjusting the as and el accordingly. I think your best bet is to try to bend the pole into position...

    2700a s/w transfer question

Why are you transfering the software from one reciever to another? If you wanted to upload the newest original pansat firmware, I would do it from a computer.. If you wanted to upload a hack firmware.. then I suggest calling 888-825-2557 for help with that.. They will be sure to help you...

    Hair Brained Scheme II

Or, in your case, it would be 10750000 :) The 10600 (or 10600000) would be for a Universal LNB, which most 0.3db LNBs are with the exception of the Invacom Quad Polar, and the Xtreme (which is news to me, I thought it was a Uni) EDIT: Also, since this is not a Uni, it does not matter of...

with and without a resistor? are you talking about +22k? If so, you must be refering to your MSR1500.. that is for tone inject.. that enables a 22khz tone to be sent down the wire for 22k switches or for universal LNBs What kind of LNB are you using? If this is a universal one (which...

    StarChoice and MyTheatre

Using MyTheatre to recieve Bell is HACKING! It is not allowed or tollerated here, as it is ILLEGEAL! Since you have not admitted to this, then I will go ahead and answer your question anyways... No DVB card will work with Starchoice.. SC uses the "unhackable" Digicipher system (thank god)...

Good bye puny dish.. Hello Big Dish!

The thing that confuses me the most right now is the fact that the feedhorn mount is a metal pole that connects to the middle of the feedhorn... I dont see how signal can pass thru that?? I may "upgrade" that to a tri or quad pole mount

Good bye puny dish.. Hello Big Dish!

Its a big ole 36v motor with a worm gear on it.. I have seen them on other peoples threads... I am in the process of taking everything apart to clean it, replace old steel hardware, and repaint things.. I may disassemble the motor and refurb that too (new grease, paint, replace hardware)

Good bye puny dish.. Hello Big Dish!

oops, forgot pictures... I keep looking at this thing, and then my 90cm dish, and the hefty bag commercial pops in my head "HEFTY, HEFTY, HEFTY!.. wimpy, wimpy, wimpy...."
