Edision Edision OS Mio 4k - Timeshifting? USB vs HDD

Still not sure why my OS Mio reset itself from media\usb to media\hdd? Maybe it does that automatically if you unplug the hard drive? Also, I can see from my post back in September that there was a way to format a hard drive, but I can't find it now. How do you get to the hard drive formatting...

Edision Edision OS Mio 4k - Timeshifting? USB vs HDD

I was using the wrong hard drive. There were two hard drives on my TV cabinet and I plugged in the wrong one. After plugging in the correct one I went into OpenWebif. It wouldn't let me set a bookmark location for my hard drive. So I switched from the new OpenWebif interface to the Classic...

Edision Edision OS Mio 4k - Timeshifting? USB vs HDD

I'm using TNAP and for some strange reason my timeshift path reverted back to media/hdd (and now it doesn't timeshift). I can get to the "Recording Paths" menu, but I have no way to type in the timeshift location and change it to "media/usb" using the remote control. I forgot how I did this in...

    OTHER Old actuators and positioners

I assume you are comparing to the photo in your thread here: Who knows or recognizes this Actuator. and you need one with a motor and control box, correct? I think a "Moteck SuperPowerJack 24" QARL-3624+ Heavy Duty C-Band Satellite Actuator" from eBay would work if your dish mover controller...

Edision Edision OS Mio 4k - Timeshifting? USB vs HDD

Pardon my ignorance, but I have another question. Does the OS Mio accept an internally mounted SATA drive? Or are we limited to external USB drives? I could answer my own question by opening it up and looking inside, but its easier just to ask. :)

Edision Edision OS Mio 4k - Timeshifting? USB vs HDD

Never mind, I did some searching and found the answer. I had to change the the path from media/hdd to media/usb.

Edision Edision OS Mio 4k - Timeshifting? USB vs HDD

I know this is an old thread but I am having the same problem. I got my OS Mio 4K+ about 2 years ago and am finally getting around to setting it up for recording and time shifting. I'm using TNAP. 4.0. I have hooked up a 1 TB drive to the USB port. I initialized the hard drive using the setup...

    Fortec painted dish

Very unlikely that painting a dish would make a difference with reception. The only way paint could affect the signal would be if it contained metal and it was very thick or uneven. Its much more likely that either your dish is not aligned as well as before, or there is more interference at the...

OTHER Is RG-6 required for fta?

75 ohms is the reactance (not resistance) from the inner core to the outer shield at RF frequency. The DC resistance between the core and outer shield is near infinite. Just get RG6 and you will be good to go. I got mine in bulk 500 foot rolls at Home Depot.

GEOSATpro Geosat HDVR 3500 no memory

If I were you I would replace that HDVR 2500 with an OS Mio from Titanium, You can get excellent support on this forum and over the phone with Brian. Its a very capable receiver. Loving mine so far -- best FTA receiver I have ever owned.

OTHER TBS6983 - one tuner seems to have died - what to do?

The referenced article is for Linux, but I am using Windows 10. It could be the same issue with IRQs. But all is well now with the other DVB card removed and using a different slot.

OTHER TBS6983 - one tuner seems to have died - what to do?

Its all surface mount and no user replaceable capacitors. The PC had another DVB card installed in it. So I took it out and put the TBS card in its slot. Now the TBS card is working again. :-) Maybe the device driver got confused with another DVB card? Or maybe one of my PCI slots is going...

OTHER TBS6983 - one tuner seems to have died - what to do?

I have a TBS6983 which has worked well for many years. Recently one of the tuners has stopped working. It was intermittent for a while, but now it hasn't worked after multiple attempts. Could it be a bad connection? Anyone have a similar experience? Advice on how to fix it? Thanks.

OTHER Question about using a Directv Satellite Dish with a FTA reciever.

If you don't have the money for an OS Mio, then I would recommend this one: Amiko Mini HD265 FTA Receiver DVB-S2 H.265 HEVC With NTP 5999883023525 | eBay

    Openbox Openbox 10

On mine they are on the bottom and out of sight unless I look from underneath. They're next to the RG6 connectors. Mine is pretty old. Maybe the newer ones don't have movement buttons?

GEOSATpro GEOSATpro HDVR3500 - back from the dead

My U4 Quad Hybrid remote control died (crunched in half by my rocking chair). Its beyond my ability to repair a cracked multi-layer circuit board. Anyway, I need a receiver and if you want to sell the HDVR3500 I am interested. I tried one out a few years ago and the blind scan was pretty fast...

    Openbox Openbox 10

What I was concerned about was a partially stuck USALS motor (from sitting a long time). It draws more current trying to move from a stuck position than in normal use. But now that you have been using it, it is probably fine. Brian will know for sure.

    Openbox Openbox 10

Hi. Lightning or a power surge are likely causes of STB failure. But there is another possibility if you are powering the dish motor using your STB. Before connecting up your expensive new Edison OS Mio I would recommend checking your dish motor to make sure it is not drawing too much current...

    OTHER ACM Receviers

eBay now charges a final value fee to sellers who end their listing early. So if you have a listing up and don't let it run to its scheduled end date, you pay 10% ! I found this out the hard way recently when I was selling an old iMac computer. I discovered a mistake in the listing and, since...

[Viewsat] Trying to get started on fta cheap.

At a minimum you would just need a LNBF like this: https://estsatellite.com/shop?olsPage=products%2Fmaverick-satellite-mk1-pll-ku-band-pll-lnbf-standard-10750-lo The Viewsat VS2000 will pickup DVB-S, but not DVB-S2 which is what most FTA channels are. If you want DVB-S2 I would recommend this...

Titanium Satellite Titanium ASC 1 gone bad after 1 month in use

To test thermostats I remove them and put them in a pot on the stove. Then I heat it to near boiling and see if it opens. If its stuck closed I am happy because it is a lot easier and cheaper than other possible causes of overheating.

Titanium Satellite Titanium ASC 1 gone bad after 1 month in use

Over the years, owning my own code readers has saved me thousands of dollars. I do all my own repairs except for changing tires and windows. My dad was a lifetime mechanic and I learned everything from him. It makes me ill when I hear how much some people get charged for easy auto repairs these...

Titanium Satellite Titanium ASC 1 gone bad after 1 month in use

Ditto the above ^^^. However, I think Brian went to a ham radio club field event this weekend. Until he is back, you might try putting a volt meter on the actuator power wires and see if there is voltage when you try to move the dish east.
