Coming back to Canadian Satellite in the US

I had Bell for years in New Jersey and the move to Nimiq 4 killed all of my HD. Unless you feel like fighting to find a fringe signal I suggest you look at Shaw Direct.

Who carries the Versus hockey broadcasts in Canada?

Some will be on Center Ice, others on TSN or TSN2
  3. R

Starchoice or Bell ExpressVu Equipment Online dealers

Absolutely kusat. I've bought from them several times. Great service and prices.

    Bell in PA

You have the exact same set up I had. Loved it until that footprint changed. I'm not far from you in southern Morris County in NJ. My advice is to give it up if you want the HD. It's just not worth it. I'm considering Shaw, but I'm not sure I want to spend any more money on equipment and...

    bell in north jersey

Keep me updated...I'm not all that far from you, in Morris County, right on the Somerset County border.
  6. R

    bell in north jersey

That's what I've been trying to tell you. 82 is almost impossible to pick up in Jersey. I am technically inclined and I gave up. Shaw would be a better bet.
  7. R

    bell in north jersey

Until the footprint changed I had a rock solid signal on 82 and really enjoyed the hockey coverage. With the NHL Network picking up the HNIC double headers and the Wednesday TSN games, I just can't see spending the money to do this anymore.

    bell in north jersey

Good luck with 82. You're going to need it. I'm in Morris County and I canceled Bell last year after trying a few different things. Admittedly getting another dish wasn't one of them but the signal was so weak that I didn't see the point in wasting my time. With DirecTV having almost every game...

    Nimiq 4 strength

I'm in central NJ myself. All I can tell you is that if you want the HD on 82 you're going to be very disappointed. I canceled my subscription last fall because of it.

want bell back in pennsyvlania sick of dish and direct

Unless things have changed dramatically in the last couple of months, you're going to have a very rough time getting any HD in PA. I'm in New Jersey and gave up late last year and canceled. The foot print is just too far north to bother with.

    Aiming BEV - New York

Southern Morris County with a 20" dish. It just wasn't worth trying new dishes and everything else it would have taken to get that signal back. I get all the hockey I can handle now with DirecTV in HD which was the primary reason for me getting the BEV system in the first place.

    Aiming BEV - New York

I'm in Northern New Jersey and canceled my BEV sub because I couldn't get anything from 82 once Nimiq4 went live.
  13. R

    Nimiq 4 strength

Agreed. Simply not worth the hassle. I canceled the other day and I guess it takes 30 days since they want to squeeze one more payment out of you. I'll look into StarChoice but probably not til spring.

    Nimiq 4 strength

Anything in the 50s will lock but the minute it starts raining you're done.
  15. R

    Nimiq 4 strength

I canceled CI on BEV and ordered on DirecTV and don't regret it. All games in HD for the home and away broadcast. And it's cheaper.
  16. R

    Nimiq 4 strength

There's a definite improvement here in New Jersey. I'm getting all HD channels here but a check of the signal strength shows about 50 on most transponders. It's a crystal clear day here and I think one passing cloud would be enough to kill the picture. I may just look into a 30 inch dish...

    Nimiq 4 strength

Pretty much dead in New Jersey. I managed to cancel my Centre Ice subscription and will now look into Star Choice for my Canadian fix.
  18. R

Finally, it looks like bell has begun their cardswap

I received mine almost two months ago.

missing odd transponders on 82 evu

I had this happen a while back and simply unplugging the receiver for a minute and then running the switch check after plugging it back in was enough to correct it.

    Canadian TV in USA??

I find it hard to believe that you can't get ExpressVu in Oregon. Are you sure everything was set up properly?
  21. R

Sportsnet HD2 hockey feed on SC

Regional coverage only. If you're out of market you'll need Center Ice to watch.
  22. R

    Canadian TV in USA??

Ditto on the C$. My monthly ExpressVu bill has just about doubled. And speaking of which I'll throw my $0.02 worth behind ExpressVu based on what you seem to be looking for. With it I get Boston and Seattle US networks in HD and Centre Ice brings me plenty of hockey in HD.
  23. R

    SC in South Florida

I'll just add my $0.02 in recommending Kusat. I've purchased from them several times. Top notch service.
  24. R

    BEV In NYC

I didn't even bother with Sunday Ticket. Between local NYC channels and the BEV feeds from Boston and Seattle, I get the best games almost every week in HD. I do have Centre Ice and love the fact that they've got 4 channels for HD this year. I just hope they use them.

    New HD coming to BellExpressVU

It's not even showing up in the guide, though.
