Shaw set-up South of the border

One LNB is mounted fixed in the center and focal point of the 2.4 meter dish. I do get good reception with it and I believe it is from the 111w as there is TSN HD in the line up. The other LNB is on a movable bracket. It can be moved freely up and down, left or right. If somebody has a standard...

Shaw set-up South of the border

A manual set-up is very easy inside the US . . . I have done it many times for Dish, Dtv and C-band. You have such a strong signal, the dishes is light and easy to move. I am working here with a 8 foot dish which has to be moved millimeter by millimeter. Sometimes you get a good signal and loose...

Shaw set-up South of the border

location: Belize equipment: 1.8m off-set dish PVR 630 Dual receiver 2 Avenger Twin LNBs KSC322 switch: Ecoda EC-2111 0/22KHz 2x1 I have found Anik F2 111W with the LNB in the center of the dish and I can view e.g. TSN HD with a very strong signal 95+. So far I have not found Anik F1. I had...

    Shaw Direct set up

I cannot complete the 2 LNB set up for Shaw Direct on 6 foot dish. I am using 2 linear single Ku Lnbs. In the center of the arms I quickly found good reception (98 of 100 on a DSR300 receiver) for digital channels on 111W. Both Lnbs are combined with a 2x1 Diseqc switch. I have put the other...

    Shaw Direct set up

Thanks for the info. 7ninty, that sounds too complicated for me. I guess I will have to purchase two dual LNBs and run 2 cables for the dual receiver. Q: I also have an old Fortec Star Universal Twin LNB FSKU-2V Will that work ? I can also get a Invacom QPH-031. will that work for Shaw Direct...

    Shaw Direct set up

thank you for the info. 1.) So there is no way around that I will have to run one long cable per receiver: two 200 ft long cables for a dual receiver. Right ? 2.) "(Assuming you are configured for last year's Quad LNBF logic instead of the new Xtended Ku-Band Quad LNBF setup used on...

    Shaw Direct set up

Ok, let me ask differently. Shaw Direct: * I have two single LNBs (for 111W and 107W) * The two signals can be combined with a Diseqc Switch 2X1. Correct ? * My PVR has two receivers, therefore I need two (2) antenna inputs. * I have a 200 to 250ft long cable run. * can I split the...

    Shaw Direct set up

I was looking for switches, setup etc. for Shaw but no avail. Q: I am using a 630PVR with 2 antenna inputs connecting to 2 single output lnbs (for Anik F1 and Anik F2). Is there a combiner and splitter ?

    Shaw Direct set up

OK, I did two installations for Shaw Direct in Belize. It's even working fine on a approx. 32" oval dish, standard equipment; both satellites come in quite good.

    Shaw Direct set up

I will start searching for signal with an off-set dish, my Lexium DBS7000 and the QHP-031. Any specific TP I should be using ? Any other advise I might not know ? I guess Anik F1R would be the satellite as it has some free channels (until I get a sub receiver) Thanks, Wolfgang

    Shaw Direct set up

I also have an Invacom QPH-031 linear and circular. I guess that would work for Shaw as well. Now a stupid question: * for Shaw, would both work: offset and prime focus (same size = 6 foot, I am in Belize) using a the QPH-031 in linear ? * * Can I search for Shaw Direct signals with the...

    Shaw Direct set up

Ok, my questions are: * Can I search for Shaw Direct signals with an offset dish, the Fortec lnb and a Lexium DBS7000 box ? (meaning not using a Shaw receiver) * Any specific transponder I should use ? Thanks

    Shaw Direct set up

ok, now I completely understand. Are there any real good linear LNBs on the market or should I just go with another Fortec ? I will need to purchase a second linear lnb anyhow. thanks.

    Shaw Direct set up

ok, now I understand, thank you. R/L means circular and V/H is linear That brings me to another problem: I do have a punch of Lnbs around but non says R/L or H/V just the frequency is printed. I know the Fortec Universal FSKU V2 I used to use for FTA and it should be linear.
