    Comcast is SMART

It's the contract. comcast could have outbidded D* and cwould have gotten the exclusive deal instead but that didn't happen. Basically to me it sounds like comcast is jealous that they didn't win the contract with the NFL. They're poor losers and are taking out on sat. subs.

Philadelphia with a Satellite dish "control" bill

TV dishes serve up an aesthetic dispute another waste of time by a city that is dying a slow miserable death. To me it sounds like Comcast has a hand in this. TV dishes serve up an aesthetic dispute | Philadelphia Inquirer | 06/12/2010

Does Satellite providers offer On-Demand services?

I don't know about Comcast or D* dvr's. But I do know I love my E* 522. Love the fact it has two tuners and it can feed two tv's. Plus it only needs a one cable feed which was good for there is no way for me to feed another cable to the dvr. Ron

Does Satellite providers offer On-Demand services?

Cable is almost $20 more per month around here and i'm in prime Comcast territory. My mom is paying over $60 per month for two analog boxes. I'm paying $65 for the AT-180 w/ a dual tuner dvr. A much better bargain in my opinion. Plus picture quality is better.

Does Satellite providers offer On-Demand services?

Still not worth the extra money per month cost of cablre over E* or D*.

Does Satellite providers offer On-Demand services?

Understand but in my opinion it's not worth the $10+ that Comcast charges more than Dish where I live. Plus from what i've read Dish's dvr is better than Comcast's too. Ron

Does Satellite providers offer On-Demand services?

It doesn't matter if you have to wait for the dvr to record the show. Reason being by the time you are ready to watch it the show has been downloaded. So in my oinion it's just as good as video on demand. Ron

    cable box

I odxn't know if she has enhanced or not. One of her boxes is of this new desgin the other is an old analo GI like she's had since getting cable back in '88. This new box which I forgot to write down the number also seems to give her in demand tv. I don't know if she gets all of the dmeand...

    cable box

In any case she's paying way to much for analog service. Tried talking into the better deal with Dishnetwork or even Dirctv but doesn't want anything on her walls. Amazing it would be a $20 savings too. I don't think Comcast Sportsnet is worth the difference for that would be the only hting...

    cable box

I undertstandand will find out the type of box she has. My next question is if they've eliminated the analog signal how was she getting the channels before? Up until last Monday she had a true analog box. It has RCA jacks in the back for audio and video. Shame it doesn't have an s-video...

    cable box

My mom has Comcast in NE Philly and only has analog cable. The tech came out and changed her cable box. It's amazingly small and seems to act like digital cable in that it shows an electronic program guide overlayed on the picture. She also seems to have other features that i've never seen...

Just an FYI for NJ Comcast Customers

It might do the things yuo say, but i'm correct about it effecting people who don't want to upgrade. I told everyone where I work what the cable companies are doing and they are all pissed. They don't want to upgrade to digital cable from their analog service. They all feel they are paying...

Just an FYI for NJ Comcast Customers

What they are doing is forcing people who don't want to buy digital cable to get it so they see the channels that they want. Is this progress? I think not. Not fair to soemone who doesn't want or cant afford digital cable. Ron

How fast is your Comcast HSI

That's not very fast for cable. In fact i wouldn't pay all that money just to go that spped. It's even slwoer than I was. Again trying to save money and get somethign for my money is why I left cable internet for dsl. Ron

    Boomerang on Comcast

Each franchie area gets different programming. Soemtimes different receviers too. Plus sat doesn't use anyones right of way and they don't pay franchise fees or taxes. Only time there are taxes is if you live in a state that has some offieces of the sat. company.

Pennsylvania Cable TV Deregulation Plan Introduced

Verizon or any other tv competitor can and will play franchise fees. The only reason the Pittsburgh politico is against competition is do to the loss of his kick backs. I hope we get it here in New Jersey. I'm not with Comcast, but feel that they should get their run for the money. Ron
