Buzzing sound from my 10' mesh LNB area

Thought maybe at first it was bees buzzing inside the LNB cone, but too cold today. Noticed it a few weeks ago and forgot about it. It makes a buzzing sound for a couple seconds, waits then makes it again, then repeats over and over. Is this the servo control going?? Get a picture on my 4DTV...

Battery swap complete--and she still works...

bobvick, Did the seller say anything about it's condition?? Or was the sale as-is?? Ebay is very good at resolving issues with the Buyer Protection if you care to look into it. It all depends on what the seller's information said about condition.

And yes I also left the VCII cage out and obviously the back cover too. Definitely should not get too hot now...

Battery swap complete--and she still works...

wonder if your battery died on way to your bench, you said it was unplugged to move it....I know you lose a bunch of tiles but not sure about the numbers on your front display..

Battery swap complete--and she still works...

Agreed, I too left the VCII module out and also the whole cage. Not only is this not used anymore and has a possibility of another battery going, I left it out to save from any extra heat generation. I have mine in an area that gets warm and any heat I can remove is a plus for me. Let us know...

Battery swap complete--and she still works...

bobvick, Even if the old battery has around 3.6 VDC would still change it. From everything I've read the voltage stays steady until it's very near to it's end then drops quickly. Especially would be brought on by a power outage or unplugging it for awhile. Without knowing when and if the...

Battery swap complete--and she still works...

Just no X4 tile, but didn't have it before either. Have tried everything listed here and on other sites but no luck. Figured if I had to do a master reset I'd better get my battery done. At this time I only plan on using the 920 as a dish mover so no priority to get X4. Got W5 then right...

Battery swap complete--and she still works...

Checked the UID today and it matches the number on the back of my 920. Also clock is back to the correct time so I guess all is well.

Battery swap complete--and she still works...

Been wanting to do this for quite some time, swap the battery on my 920. Well we've had a couple power outages lately and the old girl has still rebooted successfully. But she must be close to 15 years old and really pushing my luck. So ordered the battery and followed the instructions on...

OK I'll be the scapegoat, need help with my 4DTV and X4

After reading the final work around instruction on the 4DTV Online page looks like I'm hosed no matter which model I have. According to the writing in red both my TDT and channels are over the limits. My TDT is 1986 and channels are 5013, so a MR is my only option. Seeing as tho I'm looking...

OK I'll be the scapegoat, need help with my 4DTV and X4

OK have to change things a little here, found out that I have a 920 instead of a 922. I know there are a few things done differently with the older model. Have to do more reading to see what I need to change. Until I did some reading and looked at the serial number I was always under the...

OK I'll be the scapegoat, need help with my 4DTV and X4

2 things to ask at this point, 1) Where is the manufacture date located?? Can find the sticker that gives part and serial number, but can't find any date. 2) What us the difference between a Master Reset and pulling the plug?? Except for my battery being dead, will pulling the plug dump...

Any ideas on the R4 sat?? Should I delete it and try again, maybe causing some conflicts?? Not sure but don't think it's even viable anymore..

OK I'll be the scapegoat, need help with my 4DTV and X4

OK so now have programmed G0 in the same spot as W5 and have done the alternate procedure. On this one the trip is also 1986 but channels are 4749. Like before have left it on for 20 minutes and nothing appeared to download. One note to add, I do have in my sat map R4 located right by W5. Is...

OK I'll be the scapegoat, need help with my 4DTV and X4

Right now tuned to W5-602, it says TVLD and I have the DC2 light. My trip counter reads 1986 and channels are 5013. Left it on there for 20 minutes or so and no changes. Could it be because my channels count is so high???

OK I'll be the scapegoat, need help with my 4DTV and X4

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I'll take the punishment for the others!! I didn't do the 4DTV conversion to X4 earlier as I was concerned about the "hit" from Motorola if I kept my LNB's connected. I am pretty much planning on using it as a dish mover, but would like to be setup for HITS...

    New Actuator Time

Got a good look at the Venture this morning. Boy it is a HEAVY DUTY model as it's a larger diameter arm than my Von Weise. Also got the accordian boot to protect the actuator arm. Got her hooked up this morning, set the east and west limits, and rescanned my satellites. All is well again...

    New Actuator Time

Yep exactly what happened to my actuator, nylon bushing stripped out! I ordered a Venture 24" actuator and received yesterday. I was going to get the ball screw one but found out the Von Weise we have is actually an acme variety and that lasted me nearly 15 years. So I got the Venture HD...

    New Actuator Time

Wish mine was as easy to fix as your problem!! My actuator arm stripped the threads so it basically has no grip to hold in place. I can move the dish back and forth myself which isn't a good thing. Have a new Venture actuator on order and should be getting it today. Wish me luck!!

    New Actuator Time

Had no reception on my BUD yesterday and went out to investigate. My dish was leaning all the way west as the tube from the actuator that extends in and out had stripped from the ball screw. SO new actuator time. I had a Von Weise V76-5 and would like to get something in that category. With all...
