    410 & 22Khz

Will a dsr-410 see through a 22khz switch to a c-band lnbf? I'm being told yes, and i'm sure it worked before on the loop-thru on my Traxxis but something has quit working for me...

-Which is better v or g box

I've said it before, my v-box X goes where I tell it to go every time, all the time. I really don't require it to do anything else and I'm not really sure what else people are expecting these things to do. I've never needed it to be any more accurate either. Gaining a point or so from a more...

I have to add, my above instructions are for using the V Box remote. I'd set the limits using it.

    Powermax V Box limit setup

drive the dish to the end of your arc, prod the recessed "limit" button and press "enter". Do the same for the other end and that's it.

    dsr 920 questions

You need to plug it into a TV, go through the menu screen and make sure the system ID (UID I believe its called) matches the number on the sticker on the back on the unit. If they're not the same...the battery has already died and it lost its unit ID (pretty much garbage).

    C and Ku Band internet?

Nobody gets free satellite Internet, nobody. The providers know who is using the signal and it's not possible to use it without them knowing. Much like digital cable...they know your there. The Mac address of every modem needs to be provisioned regardless of whether it's one-way or not. As a...

    VBOX-X versus VBOX 7

I use the V-box X as well for about a year now. Other than some pretty mickey mouse spring clips to hold the wires in, its great. I don't plan on constantly removing, and re-connecting the wires to it, so not an issue. Yes, a bit odd looking but we're the guys (and girls) re-erecting these big...

    VBOX-X versus VBOX 7

All these things do is move a dish and save the positions. I tell mine where to go, and it goes-every time, hitting all the birds out there in the arc that I can see, without requiring a dish mover that's "more accurate". How much more accurate does a mover really need to be?

    Rescued 10' channel master

GBox/VBox wiring..What to use, where to buy

Not sure on the shielding part, but I used low voltage landscape wiring with no problems. Its got a good heavy rubber sheath on it and its not too too expensive. I think its the same stuff anyway as the irrigation wiring.

    Different DSR410 models?

Does anyone have any comment on my audio question of the 410's on the first page of this thread? Wondering about the digital audio port on some of the 410's and if it outputs digital audio from all channels where its available and stereo audio where its not...

    Different DSR410 models?

I'd like to take this question a step further and ask about the digital audio output on some of the 410's. Will this port output audio from all channels or just channels with digital audio? I'm wanting to replace my older gen 410 that only has stereo audio ports for one with the coaxial digital...

    s-video baluns

You know, for some reason I don't think the s-video baluns are very common. Other video types are out there but I haven't seen alot of s-video ones. I use some slick HDMI over CAT5 passive baluns and they work great.

    moving/transporting a concrete pad

Good call on keeping the bolts in the same spots. This dish was an awesome find for me, very well cared for and the last time it was used was in 2005 at which time it had just had a brand new Von Weise actuator put on it to be pretty much parked. The actuator arm is still shiny! and the...

    moving/transporting a concrete pad

I've found out that the ones used around here are flat bottoms. The original installer tells me they've moved them manually using a couple planks and some 1.5" pipe as rollers. Then winch it up onto a low trailer. They've also got them up on end and rolled them very carefully. So a couple good...

    Yuck!

Yup, my 920 had its VCRS module battery explode and leak acid onto the main board. It ate some capacitors off my main board and ate some of the traces on the main board too. Literally blew one of the ends off the battery! So now I'm in the process of buying a dead (well, ID lost due to dead main...

    moving/transporting a concrete pad

I think that's why they were used more often here as we need to dig down quite a ways to get below the frost line. Obviously I've seen both ways but there's enough of them around here that they must have been favorable to people.

    moving/transporting a concrete pad

The threaded rod is for leveling out the pole...these types of mounts were used all over this area when c-band was at it height. Apparently they forklifted the whole mount on a trailer when you purchased them, delivered it and a few guys would unload it manually somehow. Whats nice about these...

    moving/transporting a concrete pad

I came across a mint condition 10' mesh Channel Master for a good price. Got this dish home, set up on a small temporary pole I have out back. Now I need to get the mount home :-( The dish sat on a concrete pad with one of those mounts that was bolted to the pad with heavy threaded rod for...

Arc travel with Von Weise 24" actuator

I will add, that my 6' mesh dish had a tough time getting to the extreme east at all due to the mounting location of the actuator. By the time it started getting over around 72 the actuator arm was almost right against the dish bracket and that was it. Some modding to the mount to get the...

FTA and 4DTV 920 Receiver on one Dish

I'm assuming the problem with 2 receivers controlling polarity is that many receivers are not truly off when the power button is pressed and they'll still control polarity? I know I have a 410 on the loop-out of my traxxis and I have to turn the master power switch on the Traxxis off or some...

plead for help locating a dead DSR920 for parts

I'm going to reference my repair guys thread here as he explains it. http://www.satelliteguys.us/4dtv-discussion/239488-dsr-920-schematic.html I believe its some capacitors that the values are no longer legible because of the battery acid. Bad stuff I tell ya. Anyway, I think Roger at RPS in...
