anyone know where I can get 4play.exe ? Given the latest NPS deal. I would like to have it running smoothly by the end of the year.

Excellent news... looks like its worth to have some fun with the 36 incher and see what C band I get... my goal is to reduce the amount of motor movements I need... and using small fixed dishes takes up much less room than a bunch of 6 and 8 footers... have to see what comes in strong enough...

That would be a good idea... I live in Silicon Valley... I could drive 50 miles in any direction... What I wonder though - If I get the maps... would someone like NPS be able to send the hit via X4 ? or would a hit also be an issue... I think you need hits every so often - right ?

I think 44/99 is OK for signal strength ? but I did not get a digital lock on any channels... not even sure the receiver is working... bought it second hand... need to find a good TP on X4 to ensure digital lock tests... any ideas ? also - it all doesnt matter if I can not get a Hit or...

no - this setup is strictly an X4 service setup... I have a fixed 36 inch pointed at the bird X4... I did notice that some channels (610) are black... and others like channel 1 are pixels... it also says "searching channel"... I have 44 signal and 99 quality... not sure if thats good or not...

do you know what channel for the hit... when I look at NPS web site it does not list X4 as a bird for getting a hit ? Also... it looks like I have some channel maps... I do get channels in the 600 for X4... I am just hoping that they never switched around any of them since this box was last...

So another question... along the lines of channel maps... I have this connected to a fixed 36 inch disk pointed to X4... I know NPS has a KU only service for 20 bucks... Will I get the maps I need this way ? and will they be able to hot the box through X4 ?

thanks for that info... I guess if the MAp does not contain the TP/VID/SID, then you can not get the channel. There use to be something called 4play I remember from years ago... is that still around ? or do the maps contain ALL channels possible ? not just advertised ?

I am pointed to X4... I was wondering if I can get a channel map from KU... this recvr has no C band connections... I called NPS - but they know nothing about satellites... did not even know that G16 and X4 were same thing... so 1) can I get channel map from KU 2) does the DSR922 show...

I dont understand how people find wild feeds on a DSR-922 if you can not scan for channels ? is the download of the channel map 100% complete for all TPs on all birds ?

I searched the menu on the dsr922 - looking for a way to enter TPs and channels ? is there no way to do this ? Some reading indicates that I have to sub the box (which I want to do anyways) and then I will geta download of all TPs... if this is the case, will I get all the free DCII, NTSC and...

If I use the IF out, and slave the 4dtv, then the 4dtv can not switch polarity of the LNBF - right ? meaning I use the main DVB to get to a H channel, then 4dtv will bring in the H channels... and to get V channels, I have to switch the DVB to V channels ... Is this right ? I would not need...

I read lyngsat and see lots of "free" DCII channels on C band. THey are shown in the "free" color that lyngsat uses. Do you just buy a 4DTV recvr and connect up to an 8ft dish to get going ? Some say that DCII is encrypted and you need a sub ? Help !

Does DCII on K band or C band have FTA channels ? When I look at lyngsat.com, the FTA page says so... I thought DCII was all encrypted ? If there is FTA - then what recvr gets you DCII ? and can I get one recvr for DCII / Analog and DVB ? Curious
