What difference does it make how old the corotor is? They are premium equipment. If you knew so much you wouldn,t call them junk or crap. If you think they are junk or crap it shows that you still need to learn!!! Maybe you just do not know how to set up one!!!!

TIP: When my cap went bad on my corotor I used a cap off a snuff can and it would last a couple years. I had a plentiful supply as a guy I worked with chewed snuff.

Is there any particular reason you want one of these receivers? I was using one of these toshiba receivers which was an excelent dish mover till it failed. Replaced it with a General instrument GI 650I which works well.

I also did the satelite pipe update I explained on a solar panel ground mount. It has been up for 12 years with no problems.

The button hook on the radio shack dish hade the piece wellded on. The one at my brothers had no slop. He stripped the gear on the motor so we just used the crank to lock it on one satelite.

I always used PB Blaster for removing rusty bolts but now use Free All which is a tad better than PB Blaster.

I even still got some use out of an old broken actuator. I took the outer pipe and used a piece of it to adapt over a direct tv mount to a bigger dia. to fit my orby tv dish onto.

I used an ADL ortho feedhorn before with good results. It came with a radio shack satelite system I bought that had never been installed. What I wanted was the 100 foot of wire that came with it and I gave the rest to my brother. It worked real well.

I have one of those norsat lnbf. The info sheet that come with it said you could use 14-18 volt to switch polarity or a pulse switch. If you try it let us know how it works.

I guess you can get away with only 4.5 inch of concrete in Arkansas! Must not get frost in your area. In Northwest pa the ground can freeze down to 2 feet. I would be afraid of the frost heaving here in Pa. You did good. Your Sami dish looks in nice shape.
