Does it matter? 56 years after the last championship, and no matter who is coaching, or the names on the jerseys, the results are the same. The more it changes, the more it remains the same. This season was more disappointing than 0-16.
I was wrong about Michigan's chances in this game. Heroic effort by the players. While an upset would have been sweet, I'm not bothered by the loss. Glad they tried to win in regulation, overtime would have brought the same result.
I think The Evil School From The South's winning streak ends...
I like this choice.
Other thoughts:
No problem with the Fielder trade.Kinsler brings speed and more hustle to the top of the lineup.
Jackson and Porcello are huge trade candidate.
Scherzer may also be gone. I just can't see a $100M plus deal for him. He just had a career season. I don't see him...
Never thought I would ever say this. This game will be ugly. Absolutely no chance for Michigan to win this game. Gardner has become a liability, and I'm not impressed with the coaching.
Want to talk about steps? How many of you saw the Wings at the "Old Red Barn" AKA Olympia? That place was so steep you leaned forward to watch the game. You felt like you were going to fall to the ice from the upper deck. As for the number of seats in the new arena, I personally couldn't care...
Last night Mario Impemba called Verlander, Valverde. The way Justin was pitching, it was easy to understand the mix up. Verlander has not been impressive this season.
Red Wings looking like last season's Kings. Hot goaltending has always been the path to the cup. Black Hawks Down, are not dead, but they sure smell like it. We here in Detroit hate anything Chicago, so this has been most gratifying.
How long 's it been? I'm thinking about 8 years? What he's doing right now is unreal. 57 rbi's! .517 risp! Barry Bonds numbers sans steroids. He may make a run at being the next .400 hitter.
Don't you wish we could play Houston every game?
Riff, I think Smyly could handle long relief pretty well. Closer? Valverde wasn't wasn't shutdown enough for you last night? He isn't going to go 54 for 54 again. Nobody will, but he's brought some stability for the moment. Let's watch for a...
Late night watching Tigers and Red Wings. Fortunately it was worth it. Tiger's bench players are making Leyland look good. I thought Porcello pitched a good game. 97 mph on the fastball last night. Where did that come from?
Given the Lion's draft history, I'm not getting too excited. Mayhew has done better than Millen in round 1, but the later rounds have been complete and utter failures.
THE DETROIT LIONS - REBUILDING SINCE 1957!!!
Papa may have been helped by friendly wind conditions yesterday. Just happy to see him get the save. Being a closer in this city is right up there with being a QB or a goalkeeper. This city really turned on this guy last season. The poor guy had a bad week, for whatever reason, and everybody...
