Hi , I just found this site and was curious about my dish. I have a 10 ft. dish with a General Instrument 2730 analog receiver. I bought this 13 yrs. ago to catch all hockey/football games not in my area . We all know now that the small dish has taken over the as the way to go,but just curious if my dish is still worth anyting now . Everything is still in working order , but don't use for I have digital cable now .
Thanks for any help.

WELCOME to the SatelliteGuys.US Forum!

Probalbly not worth a whole lot but there is still a use for it! There are still loads of sports feeds on analog C-band and its easy enough to add a DVB receiver and maybe a new low noise LNB!

Small dish is trash compared to a big dish, you can get a 4dtv and subscribe to many channels that will blow away the bad picture quality on the pizza dish, big dish is still the best, for most free channels, and for cheaper programming.

4dtv info:

More good info, though a bit outdated:

Great deal on 4dtv:

If the dish is C-band only, you will get many more feeds with a c/ku band feed, it is well worth the upgrade, and slaving a dvb receiver to a 4dtv or a old analog only IRD is simple:
