Hi
I was wondering if people have experience with both dishes for western arc usage
I believe DN now uses 1000.2 instead, I saw people commenting of lower quality built of 1000.2 compared to 1000.4, is that true? how about signal quality, any difference between the 2?
Thanks

1000.4 - This dish is designed to pick up signals from the 61.5, 72, and 77 satellite. - 31.2 pounds (more than double the # of)
1000.2 Dish - 110, 119, 129 Satellites - 13.4 pounds
Would also think the LNBF spacing/placement is different.
Must work well for their service.
A bit on the small side for FTA. But should get the stronger TP's.
Area works out to around 735 sq. in. about equal to a 'normal' 70cm.
A 85cm to 100cm with multiple LNBFs would work better.IMHO
DSS signals are many times stronger than FTA signals.

I see both are sold for western arc 1000.2 and 1000.4 but not sure which one is better especially in terms of signal reception
My other question is LNBF used for any of the dishes able to get 118.7 (international channels) or you need separate dish with single LNBF special for 118.7
Thanks

The 1000.4 reflector is slightly larger than the 1000.2, but functionally there is little difference in the performance. I prefer the 1000.4 for portable use with our RV though, because of the enhanced fine tuning controls.

A separate single LNB side dish would be needed for the international channels on 118.7. It can be connected to the "In" port on the 1000.2 & 4 DPP LNBF's.

Or you could use a dish 1000plus for western arc 1000Plus was designed for 110/119/129 and has the 118.7 LNB and switches built in.
