1002 Antenna and DPP44?

I'm in the PNW near Seattle. I currently have a Dish 500 on 110/119, and a 24" dish on 129 connected to 4 rooms with a DPP44.

In trying to reduce the clutter on the side of the house, I'm considering replacing both antennas with a single 1000.2. I still need 4 outputs, and my (very limited) understanding is that the 1000.2 has a built-in switch to drive 3 receivers. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Bottom line, I would like one antenna to feed 4 receivers.

Q1: Is it possible to connect the 1000.2 to the existing DPP44 so I can have 4 active outputs?

Q2: Can I get a 1000.2 antenna/yoke minus LNBs and use my existing LNBs and DPP44?

Q3: Does the 1000.2 need a power supply and injector like the DPP44?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

A1: I believe so, you'll need 3 coax wires to the DPP-44.

A2: I also believe there is a yolk for the 1000.2 that allows 3 x Dual (single eye) LNBs, I'm not sure if a Twin LNB would fit on the yolk.

A3: If using the 1000.2 by itself w/out the DPP-44, it doesn't need the power supply and inserter.

One other solution is the original 1000 dish and yolk. It uses the Twin and Dual LNB just like you wish to do.

for 4 Rx on the 1000.2 to work properly you will need 3 single/dual lnbs and the lnb bracket to feed each sat into the 44 switch.

Good answers, guys. Nice to see a straightforward exchange. Debate still rages over the power supply necessities. Use one if you have it. Be prepared to buy the 1000.2, since upgrades like this are not free.

I think you may be correct. My 1000.4 (EA) manual shows that for a 1000.4 into a DPP-44 , one uses the standard 1000.4 LNB with 3 coax cables to the DPP-44.

When 129 (the old satellite) first came online, I did take a spare LNB and zip tie it to the side of my 500 and I was able to pickup 129 with decent signal (that was up in Seattle) so I still believe an original 1000 dish would work, using a twin and dual (or 3 duals) and 3 coax to the DPP-44.

Can some one help me with 1000.2 installation? I am getting 60% 110 signal but can not find 119 nor 129. I have tried foil coverage but no luck. using DP43 switch and 622 receiver.

You mention a DP43 switch? The 1000.2 has its own built in switch so if you have an older switch, it is no longer needed. If you have foil covering the left and center (viewed from behind) eyes of the LNB and are getting 60% signal, you are good. Remove the foil and then run a switch check and all should work.

You cannot use other lnbs with the 1000.2 dish.

The Dish and lnbs on the 1000.2 are designed to be used together, the spacing of the lnbs is different from say the Dish 1000.

To use the 1000.2 with a DPP44 just run all three cables from the lnbs to the inputs on the DP44, connect the power inserter to output 1 and connect receivers to all 4 outputs.
