I have a 61" Samsung HLN617W DLP HDTV. My 811 is connected via components. The Samsung's native rez is 720p. When I switch the 811 to 720p, the picture is not nearly as sharp and clear as with 1080i. I just assumed the native rez would look better. Any ideas as to why this is so?

I have no complaints regarding the picture quality using 1080i as I am now. I'm just curious as to why it looks better than the native 720p.

Before you ask, the Samsung does have DVI port, but I'm using that for my DVD player (upconverting). Frankly, I don't even want to see HD via DVI on this set, or I'll see what I'm missing. Watching DVD upconverted to the 720p is beautiful!

The scaler in your TV set is probably much better than the scaler in the 811. Probably ESPN would look better since it is 720p (I think), the rest the 811 converts the 1080i to 720p.
