This was discussed some in the 110 spotbeam thread. How are your signal strengths on 129? I'm seeing some pretty dractic drops in ss over the last several days. I'm seeing an average of 10-12 point drop.

Dish is not out of allignment. I was getting 105 on it last Wednesday when I installed and still do at times, but it doesn't stay for long. I have a seperate 24" for 129.

Can't check 6,1,3 right now, but there has been no drift. I will check again later.

Back on 5-22 when I added my 500 for 129, TP12 had a SS of 93. Right now I have a 94.
Check it a few times throughout the day or night. I'm still getting a strong signal, it seems to be cycling up and down on SS at least 10 points.

I also have a 24" dish dedicated to 129 and have the old point dish screen still. Here are my numbers as of 7:15 Monday morning:

TP1: Appears stable between 51-55, sitting at 53 most of the time.
TP2: Stable at around 53-55, peaks occasionally at 56.
TP4: A nice, strong 70. :)
TP5: Stable at 57, with occasional dips to 55-56.
TP6: Fairly stable at 53, fluctuating often betwen 51-52.
TP7: Stable at 57, with occasional dips to 56 and peaks at 58.
TP8: Not locked, with a ss of between 64-65. :(
TP9: Stable at 68 with occasional peaks at 69.
TP10: Stable at 66 with occasional swings between 64-67.
TP11: Fluctuates between 53-55. Never sits long at one ss.
TP12: Stable at 66, with occasional peaks at 67.
TP13: Stable at 68, with occasional peaks at 69.
TP16: Flucuates between 51-54.
TP17: Stable at 52, with occasional drops to 50.
TP18: 0 signal, not locked. :(
TP21: Fluctuates between 48-50. Occasionally loses lock. :(
TP22: Fluctuates between 48-50. Lock seems stable, but low.
TP23: Stable at 53 with occasional drops to 52.
TP27: Stable at 53, with occasional drops to 52.
TP30: Stable at 64, with occasional drops between 62-63.
TP31: Stable at 69, fluctuating between 68-7 occasionally.
TP32: Barely holding lock at 45, occasionally peaking at 48.

Over the course of an hour, these numbers will drop to the low 50s (or lose lock in the mid 40s) and, in some cases, peak as high as 84 on TP4.

That's life with 129 in the Pacific Northwest, even with a 24" dish for it...

Im in the same boat but was lucky enought to get 80's and 90's on 129 with my D500.

It all depends on the location. Pacific Northwest people should get the HD package with a discount. They keep losing the signal because of that POS 129 (there, I said it again). I should just add it to my signature.

Check it a few times throughout the day or night. I'm still getting a strong signal, it seems to be cycling up and down on SS at least 10 points.

Mines now moving between 88 and 92. No clouds.

It seems to be slowly lowering and raising between 87 and 94. Wobble?

June 14th marked my 1 year anniversary of National Geographic Channel HD signal loss...shared with every other HD channel on the 129 satellite. No $ discount here...paying full price for lousy service.

The rapid (boing) signal jump is new. It use to just drop to zero stay out for 5-minutes, go searching for the 105 satellite which doesn't exist and take another 5-minutes of pushing buttons to get back to the National Geographic Channel for another 10-minutes of uninterrupted viewing before the next signal loss!!! ...until the signal crept back up...NO JUMP!!! Maybe the satellite has another flat tire and is falling further out of orbit. Guess DISH is waiting for it to fall in someone's back yard before they replace it. Oh well !!!

When I called about the Voom MPG-4 Upgrade The CSR told me I had to use 129 (even though I already have a 61.5 Installed) I didn't go for the "Free Upgrade" but this thread worries me. If they come out and try to take my DPP44 Switch I'm Gonna Get MAD.

The good thing is (hopefully) that we all just need to survive until the full mpeg4 system is up.

I have a 24" for 129 (I live in Pierce Co) and my numbers are consistantly in the 80's to a couple in the 90's. I have the old point dish screen too and these numbers are off a 211.

I know I have had to raise my elevation by ~3 degrees on the dishes that I installed here.
