Here in SC, Lat/Long 34/82 Do you think I could get 148 either on my FTA or with a Dish 300? Or is it too low for me?

Should be good! I have no problems with an elevation of 10º

With satellite to the extreme East and West you usually have to enter a LIVE TP. and use DiSEqC 1.2 to store the position!

Remember to number the position also!

Do you have a live TP for 148?

And how far West will it go before it will not go any further or damage my equipment?

Ok thanks, so just make it go all the way west and then try it on a live TP, will do. Thanks.

Also if I upgraded to a 120cm dish, would I need to upgrade the HH90?

yep, I can attest that you'll need to upgrade your motor.

I just got the 120cm dish, and put it on my Sm3D12 motor. It's working, but I can see it's straining the snot out of the neck. I just got a new HH120 today to replace.

I had the SM3D12 and had to upgrade as well. The SM3D12 did noy seem to hold location too good.(It Wiggled)

Damm!!

Does that mean I will need to replace mine when I install the 1.2m?

PSB

The SM3D12 is not available from us anymore. The new motor available is the SM3D22

Main differences

SM3D22
Metal Gears inside
Built-in 2-Way DiSEqC switch

SM3D12
Plastic Gears inside
No built-in switch

Both have East/West buttons on the bottom of the casing.

Just to clarify the specs, it is rated to handle up to 27 lbs. (120 cm Aluminum or 95 cm Steel) dish.
