$16 Philo Package going away

But grandfathered for those who already have the lower priced pack and they can also switch back and forth without fear of losing the cheaper priced option.

The can until they can't. YouTube TV taught everyone a hard lesson in the meaning of "grandfathered" (i.e., any grandfathered pricing or packages can and will be arbitrarily ended at the whim of the provider).

Yeah, I got the e-mail from the CEO about the change. The difference in price is not substantial, but the extra channels don't add much value in my opinion. Unfortunately, these companies are following the old cable TV bundle(more and more channels and ever increasing prices) instead of offering a "Skinny Bundle" at an affordable price. I'll probably keep the $16.00 bundle till they raise the price or stop offering it.

Or perhaps the drug dealer method of getting you hooked for cheap and then raising the prices?

I like watching the classic TV shows on Logo, which is like TV Land 2, and the cloud DVR.

The price difference between $16 and $20/month isn't that much. But I think the service needs more channels, and more tiers, Starz!, Epix and Showtime as add-ons, and integration with local channels from an antenna.

I hope they keep the $16 package for existing customers for an extended time. I've become rather found of Philo, it has a good guide and DVR function to go along with good streaming performance/quality. Good selection of entertainment channels.
