4/21/2010 2:41pm - Uplink Activity Report - 50 changes

I was looking at "The List" which maybe isn't updated? Or maybe I was ONLY looking at 61.5 in the list and not seeing all SD stations there. I just didn't see all of our SD locals on 61.5.

I am perfectly willing to admit I may have missed something. :) I'm old and I forgive myself often... hehehe.

Anyways, I wonder if this means they'll come out and get me hooked up with a single dish solution. I have a 622 and a 612 so the equipment is correct for EA.

TheList is updated anytime there are any changes (even ones that do not warrant an uplink report). It's an automatic process.

I checked them earlier and they are all there. Just remember...on EA if there is an HD feed of the channel, the SD feed is not carried since all the receivers on EA are capable of receiving HD MPEG4 and outputting to an SD TV.

Ok but does that mean the guide data has been moved to EA as well? I thought the guide data resided where the SD locals were. At least in Buffalo DMA we needed 110 to get guide data. If I can have a fully functioning system AND get all the HD programming that everyone else is getting, tehn I'm going to call and ask for a 1000.4 EA and get off the 2-dish merry-go-round :)

It is setup so you will get your guide data with a 1000.4 dish. Buffalo, NY DMA installs can now use an EA dish and get all the locals and guide data.

Only question is what about subchannel guide data? I think you will still get it since it is in the EEPG.

What satellite positions do you have installed right now?

Cool beans. I just got off the phone with the local place that does the Dish installs and they said we are indeed EA in Buffalo DMA now. He said to call Dish and tell them you want to be migrated to EA. I might start this ball rolling tonight when I get home from work. :)

Ooops... I have 61.5, 110, 119 right now.

If I can do this with a single dish, then it's worth a call. If tehy were going to tell me I still needed 2 dishes tehn it would be more like.... what's the point? :)

What is the point of spending more of DiSH Network's money when you will get no more channels that require the different dish configuration. In fact you may wish you had not switched because of some possible additions which do not initally show up on EA.

If he has the HD channels he is missing the last two batches since those were added to 72.7 and 129 only.

Exactly... new HD that I'm not getting with my 61.5/110/119 setup AND I get to go back to just one dish.

And now, thanks to a nice Executive Resolution Specialist, I won't be paying the $95 for the installation either. And no adding on of the service contract. All I can say is, it pays to be civil and explain yourself well. Just wainting for her to call me and set it up
