40 some inch LCD HD

Was going to use tax refund for a TV around this size and it seems the market is kind of stale right now as far as new and exciting offers.

Anyone else feel this way? Seems like before and after Christmas there was a lot of things going on.

Hopefully there will be a change soon.

If you have any ideas for a TV in the 40 some inch size around price of $1,500 but hopefully less. Don't like the shiny trim around the Vizio, tried it and was too reflective.

If you are looking for just a 720p set, I picked up an LG 42" LCD (it has 2 hdmi despite the spec. listing one).

I paid $1299 for it

It does have a shiny surround though, but it doesn't bother me.

We have a 37" Philips and the thing I really like is you can set the aspect ratio to automatic and it will automatically stretch SD and upconverted digital SD to fill the screen to eliminate burn in. We have last years model but love it.
