I think it's funny how people existed and actually were able to configure their homes for those really deep CRT's!

I miss the great PQ of crt's,

Yea and we are still doing it we just ran out of wall so no widescreens. That's what keeps us happy is the PQ but that was only after it was professionally adjusted and man it was way out of whack!.Now the PQ equals my old 35" tube set and I thought I would never see that kind of PQ on a 50".:)

As far as the bulbs go I have a Panny 900U just worked for me, 106" screen,.

Ya the bulbs say 3000, first one blew at 750 hours, on the second one now just went past the 1400 hour mark and all is still good.

The bulbs definitely can be iffy and I think that those guys getting over the 3000 hour mark is awsome if not a bit lucky. Yes I have paid a lot for the bulbs and I keep a spare, but I will tell you all this. There is absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing like sitting back in our Theater seating (seating for 6) and from only 14 and a half feet away watching my ball games, or BluRays on that 106 inches, with sound coming from everywhere. Damn I love my projector, my brother has a 50 inch pioneer plasma and as nice as it is, BIGGER REALLY IS BETTER, and the costs just keep going down!
