Quick version of the question: Will an old legacy LNB (purchased around 1997) work with a 508 Dishpro receiver?

More info (don't waste your time reading if you're pressed for time):
For the winter months, we're moving to a house that has an old dish aimed at 119 with a legacy LNB. It was aimed properly, installed on the side of the house near the roof, but since we moved out 3 yrs ago, there was a house fire, and the whole roof was replaced. We were thinking a worker might have knocked it away from the satellite. It is difficult to access, but it is apparently still very secure and tightened, but when we hooked it to the 508 receiver, it showed no signal. So we're not sure if re-aiming the dish is necessary, or if a whole new dishpro LNB needs to be purchased.

I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere; I looked for a long time and couldn't find it.

Thanks! And merry Christmas to all you Satellite Guys! (and gals)

Yes, the 508 will work OK with the legacy LNB. When you hook up your receiver at the other location, go into the installation menu and perform a switch check. If your receiver still doesn't work, then try realigning the dish.

Thanks, Tony, we'll try the check switch, then if that doesn't work, drag out the 40 ft ladder and realign. Didn't want to go to all that trouble if the LNB wasn't compatible. Thanks for the fast reply.
