510 DVR audio question

if the DVR records something originally broadcast w/ DD or 5.1 audio, does it playback with the same audio? Mine doesn't seem to (I get reg stereo) and maybe I'm doing something wrong. Pls advise and forgive if this has already been addressed.
 
Yes it does - I have done this before w/ PPV content. Make sure that you are actually recording something that has been encoded w/ DD (i.e. make sure the "DD light" on your AV reciever is on when you are recording).
