I currently have Direct TV with two receivers. Instead of adding a third receiver I am thinking of switching to DISH with 522 and 322 receivers. I can see there must be several outstanding problems with the software and/or hardware. Personally I could live with VCR recording for awhile until the 522 problems are fixed as long as the second receivers are working. Any opinions?

Other than a tuner failure in my first 522, resulting in replacement of the unit, I have had minimal problems. My friend has a 322 and she doesn't have any complaints other than sometimes has to do a powerbutton reset of it gets stuck aquiring sat signals.

Just remember that anything you record can go bye-bye in an instant.

I'd say go for it.

If you have a DirecTivo...be prepared for a world of change. The DVR functions are completely different, and somewhat lacking on the Dish recievers. If this is your first experience with DVRs..then go for it..

If the DVR really isn't important to you, then just watching TV on the 522 is fine. It's the DVR that the kinks are being worked out of.

TNT-SD and PGA Championship

good signal but searching for satallite
