I have visibility to 4 birds. What order should they go into the DPP44 so I get 61.5's HD over the 129 HD?

Thanks!
(Currently it's 61.5, 129, 110, 119, which I think is WRONG :( )

LER -
I have all of the same birds through a DPP44 and I've tried every which way and there is no way to make the 61.5 satellite dominate over the 129. For the life of me I can't figure out how the box chooses which bird it pulls the signal from.

Hrm. I thought that I saw (back a year or so ago), a recommended order that DID give 61.5 priority...

Oh well, I guess I'll leave well enough alone :)

ideas welcome, however, from the assembled experts :)

I'd love to hear it if someone can actually get it to work. But I've tried several different configurations and can't get it to take.

Same here... 129 always took over before 61.5, no matter how I had them connected. I just disconnected 129...

I have been asking the same question with no response and will be playing with mine more tomorrow. I'm going to place 61.5 in the first position followed by 110, 119 and lastly 129 in the fourth port. When I did this in my Florida home, I always pulled data from 61.5 and right now it pulls it from 110 which is currently the number one position. will update you tomorrow.

I have it 119, 110, 61.5, and 129. Almost always the 129 comes in over the 61.5. If anyone figures it out let us know :)

I really believe that E* setup which sat will be used to receive duplicated programing in the firmware so there would be no way to force it to use the "other" sat. (This is opinion only, I have no proof)

Not my setup but someone's elses. What everyone else already said, we couldn't figure out how to make the receiver choose 61.5 over 129. We pretty much tried every configuration and the receiver always picks 129.

I remember a few months ago a similar discussion.

Someone thought they had it figured out and then the next day it went back to 129, probably after a "auto update" which is followed by a reboot.

Although I don't really remember the receiver, I'm thinking it was a ViP622.

That said, I wonder if it is receiver dependent, and if MPEG4 receivers default to 129 if available.

port one 119 and port two 110 and port three 61.5 as then if 118.7 or 121 is added then use port 4. this is per dish network installation guide and is the order used for the 500+ AND 1000+ dishes and is a dp34 swith is used with a super dish then use put 119 port one and 110 port two and 121 port three.

Question not answered

The question was only for 129 and 61.5 added to 119 / 110. The sats you are referring to are FSS and so are different than the others. FSS are linear polar where as the others are all circular. The FSS is triggered differently than the DBS units. In fact the DPP 44 even has it written on it that port 4 is to be used if there is an FSS sat. So question is still now answered.

I'm curious - what's the point of this exercise? I don't understand why one would want both 61.5 and 129 in their switch matrix, nor do I understand the necessity of prioritizing 61.5.

For a lot of people (most) the signal strength on 61.5 is stronger than on 129. Also since 129 is moving around a little up there the signal can vary greatly. So for me, I would like to get all National HD off 110 and 61.5 by default and my Atlanta locals off 129.

Lately my 622s have been selecting 61.5 over 129. And in fact, for the first time I have been seeing a mix of 61.5 and 129 at the same time. In the past, all of those HD channels would switch as a batch. Maybe new software?

119, 110, 61.5, and 129 Always pulls 61.5 for me except for this weekend when I lost 61.5 due to a really heavy rainstorm, then it went to 129. When it came back, it went back to 61.5.
