61.5 only system (Dish newb)

Hi guys,

Newb here.

I'm wondering about getting Dish for HD on 61.5

What I'd like to know is:

Can I use a dish fixed at 61.5 with a "normal" (not stacked etc.) circular Dish/DirecTV LNB?

Will this work, or do I need to see the additional sats to get guide/activation/etc?

yes it will work but not all the HD is on 61.5

The guide is only 2 days (44 hours) on 61.5 versus 9 days on 72.7 & 119

fyi- dish is no longer spooling software off of 61.5. EA customers will required 77 to get software. this changed the day they put out the new hd channels. so once your software gets outdated, you may lose authorization.
