622 ota w/o dish?

I no longer have dish network, but do have a 622 reciever and want to use it for ota/cable tuner box. On the menu, selection 9 for local channels is greyed out. Will this be possible?

No, when the receiver is not active the ota tuner will not work. It was never designed to work with cable.

Older DISH receivers worked as HDTV tuners as long as they were connected to a DISH signal. Now they have changed programming so that if they are not subscribed to a DISH package they will not work as a low cost HDTV tuner.
