I was told today by a CSR that the 622 will not record 2 HDTV programs at the same time as is true with my 921. I was also told if i upgrade to a 622 my second 921 will no longer receive any HD programs. I said I believe she was wrong, but she argued I would only receive mpeg4 hd streams therefore the 921 will not receive any HD. Can somebody who has a 622 and 921 or 924 installed tell me the truth.

The 622 will record 3 HD programs at the same time. The 942 still receives HD - just will not pick up the "MPEG4" channels.

I have a 942 and a 622 and both pick up HD. The 622 gets it all and the 942 gets the HD that is not Mpeg4.
The CSR is wrong on both counts It will record 2+ hd programs and an exsiting 921 will receive the HD it receives today.
BTW i also upgrade to a platinum pack so that meant i started getting Voom channels, which meant that my 942 now gets more HD than it did before, e.g rave but not UNIHD

Hope this helps.

The 622 has two satellite tuners and one ATSC (OTA) tuner. Therefore, you can record/view up to two (2) satellite programs (SD/HD) and one (1) over-the-air digital program simultaneously. You can also have all three tuners recording while you're watching recorded events on TV1/TV2.

This particular CSR is clueless.

Thanks

I have a 622 install on 4/17. I almost cancelled it based on the CSRs info. Thank you all for setting it straight. You would think "E" would train their people better.

Not always a matter of training, but a willingness of the CSR to learn... (applies to trainers as well)

I did a 622 upgrade the other day with a winger pointed at 61.5, the customer retained his 811 in another location and all hd content was blocked on the 811.

The 622 is the same as a 942 and its counterpart the 921 when it comes to recording, unfortunately you got a csr with poor training.
