Here's a feature request for the 721, for those of us who no longer have a functioning original 721 remote ...
My original 721 remote has several non-functioning buttons recently, and Dish just sent a replacement through their warranty program. Unfortunately, the replacement is the universal 6.2 remote, which does not have the "i" button, so the PIP minimized feature is not available.
So my request for a future 721 SW release would to be one of two things:
1 - change the PIP button function to cycle thru "small PIP / large PIP / minimized PIP / off". Currently button cycles thru "small PIP / large PIP / off"; only way to get the minimized PIP is with the "i" button on the original 721 remote.
2 - implement PIP like on the newer DVRs where the 2nd tuner is always on, whether or not the PIP window is being displayed.
(Of course, there is option 3, buy an original 721 remote off of dishstore.net
, but I expect that eventually this will no longer be an option.)
