Piece of cardboard between the batts and cover works nicely :D

Funny how a company that designs great HW made this goof. I know its not a big deal, this is more of a funny post than anything, but it is very annoying to hear.

Regrettably, not all 9V batteries are the same size. Some are now using lithium 9V batteries in their remotes and they are noticeably larger.

25.0 x 15.0 x 48.0 = PP3 dimensions (ANSI 1604A)
26.8 x 17.8 x 49.2 = lithium 9V

9v? All the Dish remotes I have use 4 AAA bateries. And do not rattle.

elway - you shaking your remotes again? I've told you about that. Haha. I have lots of E* remotes, some rattle and some don't. Never bothered me enough to "fix" it, but glad that it has made you happy.

Damn, and I thought the "cardboard" fix was MY invention. Should've patented it I guess................:);)

BTW, I now have two of the new 21.0 remotes. No rattles.:up

Yesterday I noticed that one of my 21.0s rattled I was going to cram something under the lid, but I forgot to do this. Now with this thread to remind me, I notice that there is no more rattle, even when I shake it. Could an outside temp. of 16 degrees cause this? I will have to monitor this and see what temp. is the next time the batteries rattle.LOL

My 622 TV2 RF remote's batteries rattled and caused enough of a voltage interruption that it keep going out of SAT mode and into TV mode. I posted a query about this a month ago about my remote continually changing modes but no one posted an explaination so I just keep thinking and thinking and finally thought about the rattling tried stuffing a piece of folded up paper into the battery compartment. And viola! Problem solved! No rattling and it stays in the mode I put it in

Great idea - I just have been putting up with the rattle. Thanks for the reminder that it is easy to fix things when you put forth a little effort.
