811 not acquiring signal HELP

POS 811 is acting up again. This time it going through the acquiring signal screen and never does lock in. I'm in Los Angeles area, sat 119, transponder 11. Already call tech support - no help. They want to charge me $29 to send someone out to check the cabling. I know it not the cables, it the piece of crap 811 that's not working properly. :mad:

I've already reboot several time, even left it unplug for several hours. Double check all the connections are correct. The 942 in the living room is working perfectly, so it's not my dish or weather related.

Anyone please help me.:confused:
 
I have had this problem several times. The signal usually comes back in 24 hours. Rebooting has never worked for me. The last time, I got a more knowledgeable tech who had me disconnect the cable from all receivers and reconnect after 30 seconds.

Voila -- it worked! It seems the switch gets stuck and removing the connections lets it start over again.
